Giorgio Armani Code Sport Athlete ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 15 May 2012 21 Comments

Giorgio Armani Code Sport Athlete

Giorgio Armani has launched Armani Code Sport Athlete, a limited edition flanker to last year's Armani Code Sport, which was a flanker to 2004′s Armani Code. The new fragrance for men celebrates the Olympic year and pays homage to "sporting heroes".

Notes include citrus, bergamot, tangerine, ginger, pink peppercorn, mint, woods, ambrox, vetiver and incense.

Giorgio Armani Code Sport Athlete is available in 75 ml Eau de Toilette Fraïche.

I like the ginger/citrus combo, which might make it pretty unisex. I just tend to love ginger notes, in general.

And okay, I’m just going to be the first to write it: That is one of the most distracting ads, I’ve ever seen. Not as raunchy as a typical Tom Ford ad, but pretty powerful for what it *doesn’t* show :).

It’s true, you have to wonder how long they spent getting the bottom edge of the photo cropped at *just* the right point, LOL..

Looks like they may have needed photoshop to do the cropping. Reminds me of all the craigslist personal ads of headless guys showing off their six-pack abs…..

The name is the place where perfume meets ridicule, but name is just a name. Notes sound quite good and sniff-worthy.

Sounds like it might not be very different from the regular Armani Code Sport. They didn’t even change the bottle, just the box.

That’s almost exactly what I was thinking, it sounds like just…well, Code.

It´s more citric and sheer? than Code Sport. Not bad but nothing special. I ´ve tried today Acqua De Gio Essenza eau de parfum and liked it better. I was afraid of a parfum concentration of something as fresh as Acqua Di Gio but I think they did a good job. I tempted to buy as mu summer frag!!

My goodness. No beer belly there. What are they selling? Do abs like that really exist without photoshop?

I’m sick of sport fragrances but I have to agree with Lucasai on this one, the notes do sound good.

Not on me, but I could see hubby possibly liking it. I like the dark brooding scents and he likes light and fresh.

Abs like that exist in real life–as a massage therapist I’ve worked on a couple of guys with that sort of build. Usually they do mixed martial arts training to get that way

I like the notes – interesting mix, but why can’t they make smaller sizes of men’s fragrances, especially if it’s a “sport” fragrance, which to me implies mobility, speed, convenience, and ease of use? I do everything I can to keep my toiletry kit small…at Sephora they sell about a bazillion fragrances in small sizes for women…and about two or three for men.

The ad is…visually quite daring. To appeal to my demographic they’ll have to make Armani Code Sport Old Fat Guy in a Lazy-Boy Recliner.

I agree with you completely! Smaller sizes should be “more in than out” And I’ll never get the reasoning behind summer falnkers. How am I supposed to use up a 100ml bottle during one summer? Should I swim in it? We all know the next year another summer bottle will appear.

They are expecting that this will be the one and only fragrance you wear all summer, in which case, it is quite easy to finish 100 ml, probably even 2 bottles, in 1 summer.

I guess if it’s light and fresh you’d have to reapply often thereby being able to finish off the bottle by late July perhaps. ;)

LOL! I can see the day that faces won’t be more necessary on a perfume ad.

Did I just walk into an Abercrombie & Fitch store? What’s with that ad? Lol. There’s nothing much to say about sport fumes, ugh.
