Christian Dior Escale a Parati ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 23 April 2012 12 Comments

Dior Escale à Parati

Escale à Parati will join the cruise collection at Christian Dior in June (see also Escale à Portofino, Escale à Pondichéry and Escale aux Marquises). Escale à Parati was inspired by Paraty, on the Costa Verde in Brazil, and like the others in the series is a citrus-based fragrance for summer.

The notes for the aromatic citrus fragrance include lemon, petitgrain, bitter orange, spearmint, cinnamon, pink pepper, rosewood, floral notes, maté, guaiac and tonka bean.

Christian Dior Escale à Parati will be available in 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette.

Well the word Portifino is kind of in lately? Lol!

Mmm, well, I can’t stand mint in fumes, not too keen on cinnamon or lemon AND lol, I dated a really, emphasis on really, mean guy from Brazil for a few years..so anything from that area makes my face squish up a bit, lol! Now if there was one called Tchau or Adeus(both meaning goodbye) and had notes of jasmine, vanilla, orange and dump that really not cool guy accords..I might think about it! haha.

So, lol..that’s a no on this one! :).

sounds nice, are these only available in Dior boutiques?

I guess I’d rather buy Eau Sauvage Extreme

They were originally pretty tightly distributed, but now they’re not that hard to find, in the US, at least — dept stores have them.

So far, I haven’t loved a single one. So, we can hope, but I’m not holding my breath!

I loved Portofino and liked Pondichery, but it’s been downhill ffrom there. Spearmint is not a scent that appeals to me and might well be a deal-breaker for this scent. Still, my Nordstroms has these at the Dior counter, and if I see it, I’ll probably give it a try.

No – not a mint lover. Some of the other notes orange, mate and cinnamon sound nice but I can’t see any of it mixing with the dreaded mint. Portofino was ok but this series seems a bit too random to be worth seeking out.

I liked Portofino but not enough to buy it. I’ll sniff this if I see it but doubt I’d ever bring it home. Then again, stranger things have happened.

Hmmm … will this save me having to buy Herba Fresca AND Mandarin Basilic and layer them? 🙂

    Don’t think so …

Where oh where must they make an Escale for some COCONUT and PINEAPPLE if not in Brasil?

Still furious there is no decent replacement for Ananas Fizz … 🙁
