Hilde Soliani Gli Invisibili ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 10 April 2012 9 Comments

Hilde Soliani Gli Invisibili

Italian niche line Hilde Soliani has launched the Gli Invisibili collection, comprising seven new fragrances: 24/09/11, Bambolina, Io, Presenze, Tutti Matti Per Colorno, Vagabondo and Zio Agide.

24/09/11 (shown) ~ "This one took our breath away. A reverent and contemplative perfume built around the ancient and resinous notes of amber, incense and myrrh, combined with the milky green, uninhibited notes of calamus..."

Bambolina ~ "...a cheery cherry blossom perfume infused with watery notes reminiscent of Hilde’s late spring shower. Lemon, cherry and apricot are uplifting, bergamot is cool and there’s just a smidge of musk to mellow the fruit..."

Io ~ "Soft, powdery notes of iris are challenged by a prickly, barely tamed pink pepper, bringing balance between good and naughty. Io feels like a classic, an wisp of an old world scent perfectly at ease in the new world and every bit as timeless as feminine wiles."

Presenze ~ "A cool and crisp bergamot is bound with very soft notes of jasmine and lily of the valley, and reserved, barely-there brushes of patchouli and vetiver. Amber and vanilla fill out Presenze, but not enough to make it overly sweet or warm. Transparent and clear with surprising (and welcome!) staying power."

Tutti Matti Per Colorno ~ "The perfume is a summer smile captured in a bottle…hay, flower grass, wildflowers and dandelion are dry and soft, and the sweet, licorice-y touch of wild fennel is unmistakable."

Vagabondo ~ "Birch, walnut, oak and poplar-- there’s an entire forest in here, but no green or pine-like notes. These are light, dry woods tinged with rare, warm spices (a closely guarded secret), what you’d imagine the smell of a centuries-old Italian library to be."

Zio Agide ~ "Hilde transformed her scent memories of Agide into this fantastic fougère, a scent that borrows from much-loved classics like lavender and fern leaf and lightened everything with a contemporary spin (one that she won’t elaborate on…as always, she says, they’re “secrets from angels”)."

Hilde Soliani 24/09/11, Bambolina, Io, Presenze, Tutti Matti Per Colorno, Vagabondo and Zio Agide are available now at Luckyscent, $160 each for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

SEVEN MORE EXPENSIVE NICHE SCENTS. I gave up trying to keep up a couple of years ago. Not only is it impossible to smell and think about every scent that comes along, I can’t even keep up with Luckyscent: my last sample order from them was in mid-October 2011 and I still haven’t tried everything that was in that package. And it wasn’t even a huge order!

    Vagabondo does sound nice, though.

It has been really interesting over the last couple years to watch the niche lines, as a group, shoot themselves in the foot in exactly the same way as the mainstream lines.

Vagabondo also called to me, but its not on her website yet. Are these all being released together, or over a period of time?

Wow! The last time I noticed (admittedly a couple of years ago), this brand was around $75.00 for 100 mL at Luckyscent.

As do I- so long as the licorice/fennel scent is not too strong. I find the scents of Hilde Soliani to be rather on the quiet side though unfortunately the staying power is brief with me. Plus I think that the price is a bit on the high end for the juice. My favorites are Acquiilssssima for it’s gentle almost powdery sea scent and weirdly I can’t stop smelling my wrist when I wear Fraaagola Saalaaata for all its simplicity, for me at least it captures the 80’s and the doll Strawberry Shortcake! :)
