I give these companies access to my lab so they can get to know individual smells and see things in a different way. It’s a shame we’re obsessed with an industry where you really pay for the bottle and campaign rather than what is inside it. We could start with understanding what’s in the bottle first, demanding better quality and different smells. Who needs a new Lady Gaga perfume?

Amen sistah.
Yep.
Sissel,
I think I love you!
She even looks cool. I love to read about her.
if you’re Lady Gaga’s No1 fan you need her perfume!
is she actually launching a perfume this year or was that just rumours? I hope she is!
and it’s true what Sissel says, perfume houses/ fashion brands should concentrate more on the juice than the bottle and the ad campaign.
Supposedly she is — we’ll see if it gets put off.
The majority of the scents I love come in a little 5ml glass bottle, or 10ml rollerball 😀 and I totally agree that the bottle is the least important factor. I’d never buy anything if it didn’t smell great.
Ditto.
Who needs a new Lady Gaga Perfume, besides me? Who needs 17 Marc Jacob’s Daisy bottles? Same juice in 17 different color bottles. If Marc can do that why can’t Lady Gaga make one?
Oh, and 2 weeks ago Gaga tweeted she was shooting her fragrance campaign so it’s on it’s way : )
Based on her initial comments, it sounds like she is copying some ELO fragrances (particuarily the “Secretions” ).
I loved Alyssa’s article, and this one is super – thank you! It’s kind of amazing that she’s found a way to get paid for this.
I know I’ll never get to the point where I’d rather be next to five homeless people than people wearing Chanel No. 5, but now I’d love to smell the Jannowitzbrucke.
Probably most of my perfumes say, “leave me along, I’m thinking/reading/surfing the net and thoroughly enjoying this perfume!” 😉
