Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2012, part 5

Posted by Robin on 8 March 2012 14 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

MAC Air of Style solid perfume necklace

From MAC, a solid perfume necklace in the Air of Style fragrance: "An indulgence—but not when you consider the sensual delights of M·A·C's solid Air of Style perfume and the coveted appeal of this exquisite Marcel Wanders multifaceted chrome compact." $40 at Nordstrom.

Bond no. 9 Central Park West, Swarovski edition

From Bond no. 9, Central Park West + crystals: "The bottle has a removable, pink rose-blossom accent which can be worn as a bracelet or brooch. Wear its double rows of beads on your wrist, or detach the vintage-style rose centerpiece to use as a brooch. This limited edition flower is adorned with 400 Swarovski stones." On pre-order at Saks, $390 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa, special edition

From Aqua di Parma, a collector bottle of Colonia Intensa: "The limited edition bottle features a handsome wenge wood cap accented by thin strips of bronze metal, inlayed by hand into the wood’s surface." $150 at Bloomingdales.

Armani Acqua for Life campaign

From Giorgio Armani, Acqua di Gio and Acqua di Gioia in special edition bottles to support their Acqua for Life campaign ("Every product sold will generate a donation of 100 litres of drinking water to children in need."). Available now in travel retail (and possibly elsewhere). (via moodiereport)

Aren’t we done with Swarovski crystals yet? They supposedly make something desirable and high-end, but you can buy them at pretty much any craft store for not a whole lot of money. It’s not like they’re tanzanite or something.

On the other hand, I love that MAC object. Shiny done right!

That MAC charm is quite cute! And nicely priced.

We will never be done with Swarovski crystals..hats off to the folks at Swarovski for their marketing skills.

I was also going to kvetch about the crystals — thanks for pre-empting my crankiness!

Agree that the MAC doohickey is pretty cool.

    So over Swarovski stuff

The Aqua di Parma is subtle but very elegant. Give us more limited editiion fancy bottles like this and less of the flower gigaws and bling.

The AdP bottle is lovely, agree.

The MAC necklace is exactly like the Solange Cosmic bottle (smaller of course) – I know as I just wrestled with the thing the other day! 😀

Ah, it does look like! Had not thought of that line in awhile, surprised they have not done a 3rd fragrance.

I wish they would! I love Cosmic; it’s very well done.

Me too. I’ve not tried Cosmic yet but I love Stoned.

Yeah, so what’s the deal with this Solange outfit? I’ve never tried the scents, but the descriptions in the Guide are fascinating (as is your selection of Cosmic in last week’s “what perfume are you?” poll, Rappleyea). I take it they’re not readily sniffable aside from ordering samples? I would love to hear more about Cosmic and Stoned from anyone who’s tried them.

The bottle for Stoned is calling my name … good thing Luckyscent wants $285 for it, or I just might find myself breaking my newly implemented no-blind-buy rule.

I did not love either of them, but they’re very well done and have many fans, and yes, in the US not so easy to find.

I’ve never smelled Air of Style and I don’t have 40 bucks lying around waiting to be spent, but that MAC necklace made me catch my breath a little.

I am pretty sure I smelled Air of Style at one point years ago, but don’t remember it now. MAC has been mighty quiet on the fragrance front lately, come to think of it.

I just want them to reissue the Naked Honeys.
