Tableau de Parfums Dark Passage ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 6 March 2012 14 Comments

Tableau de Parfums Dark Passage

Tableau de Parfums, a collaboration between Andy Tauer of Tauer Perfumes and filmmaker Brian Pera, has launched Dark Passage. Dark Passage is a limited edition fragrance, and can only be obtained as a gift for pledging $60 towards the funding of Pera's next film project, Only Child:

Evelyn Avenue collaborator, perfumer Andy Tauer, created DARK PASSAGE, a one-time-only 7 ml purse spray, inspired by the story of ONLY CHILD. This mixture of cacao, patchouli, birch tar, and iris will never be available again after our campaign runs its course.

Tableau de Parfums Dark Passage is available this month only, while supplies last, in 7 ml travel spray; there is also a Loretta scented soap available with a pledge of $25 (pledge $80 and get the perfume AND the soap).

OK I was about to be so childish and say good job it wasn’t named Back Passage and then I read the notes. I love what Andy Tauer does with iris so will investigate the whole project. Thanks!

What is ‘Tableau de Parfums’ supposed to mean, I wonder.

      tableau vivant
arrangement – an orderly grouping (of things or persons) considered as a unit; the result of arranging; “a flower arrangement”

Actualy I’m sick of cacao/patchouli perfumes, but if it’s Andy Tauer then I’m okay with it.

The name sounds intriguing. Birch tar also sounds interesting.

When I first scanned this, I thought the fragrance was called
Only Child. I would buy a case of that, scent unsniffed!

I am a sucker for short-run perfumes, but this one seems particularly awesome. The juice sounds cool (cacao and birch tar!), the name is romantic-like, and I love that you’re not merely purchasing the product, but contributing to a project. I am sold.

Aaaand done – although it seems we’ll have to wait until June to get it? 🙁

I’m in, too. We’ll have to compare notes in June.
