Hanae Mori No. 6 ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 7 February 2012 10 Comments

Hanae Mori Eau de Collection No. 6

Hanae Mori has launched Hanae Mori No. 6, the fifth fragrance in the Eau de Collection range (they are skipping No. 5; you can see No. 4 here).

From Paris comes Hanae Mori Parfums No. 6, a new limited-edition in the award-winning Eau de Collection series -- and the first to honor the butterfly. The butterfly. Nature's symbol of transformation. Name of the first and most enduringly popular Hanae Mori fragrance. Creature of beauty and balance that appears in the fashion designs of Madame Hanae Mori, haute couture club member. Through the glass cap of folded butterfly wings we see an organza print showing butterflies in flight, the ritual of courtship.

[...] The top note is tree-ripe jasmine from Morocco, neroli from southern France and bergamot from Calabria. The middle note is Egyptian jasmine for a hint of mystery, Tunisia orange blossom, green roses, American peony and heliotrope: a purple flower beloved by butterflies. The base note is Tahitian vanilla, rich toffee, a touch of sandalwood from India and benzoin, a fragrant resin from tree bark.

Hanae Mori Eau de Collection No. 6 is available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette, $95.

Obviously skipping No.5 out of respect (or copyright issues). Wonder if they’ll do the same if they get up to 19

lol. The coffee note is interesting. I’ve never tried Mme Mori’s fragrances.

Wow — if they manage to keep at it that long, they’ve earned the number!

I just got why they’re skipping No. 5! Duh! Haha! It took me a while. I met one of the owners of the company that makes the Hanae Mori fragrances at an event for the line at Nordstroms a couple months back and he said there would only be two more after 4. So there’s one more to come. I LOVE green so I’m definitely in on this one. He said a new men’s fragrance is coming too. Finally! Ha! : )

      Nobody does a 5 but Chanel ;-)

Their US distributor, IIRC, is the same company that does Creed.

Probably wise to skip No. 5. And while we’re on the subject, I really wish that numerically inclined fragrance lines would also skip No. 2 (though for a very different reason).

The original HM was the first “serious” perfume I ever bought and regularly wore. Got kind of burned out on it and haven’t paid much attention to the Eau de Collection stuff, but this does sound worth a sniff.

The couple I smelled were very sweet & fruity, but fine. I do like those bottles.

Here’s No. 7! I LOVE and want all the bottles! Dang it! Haha. They’re supposed to be finally coming out with a brand new men’s fragrance. FINALLY! Haha. : )
