Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2011, part 20

Posted by Robin on 15 November 2011 28 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Lalique Nilang

I do not know if this one is a limited edition or not — Lalique has repackaged Nilang for 2011, and this is the crystal bottle for the Parfum. "Round, sensual, tactile, a crystal sphere nobly presenting two delicate, blossoming lotus flowers. Intertwined, petal against petal, the two flowers present themselves in a bouquet, their stems merging together at the discovery of the delicious nectar." 100 ml, 1200€. (via lalique-parfums)

Yves Rocher Comme une Évidence Holiday 2011

From Yves Rocher, a limited edition bottle of Comme une Évidence Eau de Parfum for Holiday 2011. $25 for 50 ml at Yves Rocher.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb holiday 2011

From Viktor & Rolf, the Holiday 2011 version of Flowerbomb. "This holiday, Flowerbomb is adorned in a whimsical couture bow and a pink opaque bottle inspired by the iconic Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Launch Fashion Show." At Nordstrom, 50 ml Eau de Parfum for $105.

Clinique Aromatics Elixir, Swarovski bottle

From Clinique, Aromatics Elixir crystallized: "Clinique’s Aromatics Elixir – a perfume and something far beyond – is now available in a limited edition engraved bottle with a gold crystal Swarovski lid." At Harrods in the UK, 100 ml for £80.

If I never see another Swarovski-studded perfume bottle, I will die content. Somebody stop these people.

That Kiehls is one of the dumbest looking things I’ve seen in a long time. What next? Swarovski embellished Lysol?

And pretty much buries what was left of Kiehl’s whole apothecary image.

Actually, I quite like the incongruity of that very functional looking bottle done up to the nines! True, I would never ever pay the price…

Oh, I don’t know. Might be nice next to a cheetah print love seat and a velvet Elvis painting!

It goes with the gold plated bling taps in the bathroom dahlink.

they charge the 100ml price for only 50ml :/

I mean seriously?! yeah the ribbon is nice, but you could just find ribbon lying around the house and tie that on !!

my favourite was the tutu, but still a daft price for 50ml, and still you could find mesh frilly material and put that on the bottle.

I don’t know a single thing about Nilang, but I love that bottle. Gorgeous.

It is pretty. Even the regular bottles are pretty, although they’re not this pretty:

The scent is a late 90s aquatic fruity floral. Don’t think I ever tried it.

I have both Nilang and Claire de Nilang in the original tulip-capped bottles. Nilang is a heavy, very fruity fragrance that has waterlily and lotus, two of my favourite ingredients. However, I much prefer Claire de Nilang because I am aquatic lover. It’s fresher. Nilang is one of those rare aquatic/gourmands. Both the new bottles are very attractive.

what makes people think of ‘Couture’ when they see a f*cking bow?

first Dior with their ‘Couture Edition’ of Miss Dior (Cherie). (even tho it is supposed to smell different from the regular EdP, apparently it’s closer to the version pre-reformulation.)

and now the ‘Couture bow’ on Flowerbomb.

    wat?

Funny, but Aromatics Elixir is the last scent I would ever associate with crystal bling. Happy seems more appropriate to do that to, somehow.

Not sure I think of Clinique for bling at all, but you’re right about AE.

You’ve a point there, Robin. Fancy Clinique and Kiehls packages (as previously mentioned) seem to go against the philosophic grain of both these companies.

Lusting after that Lalique bottle. Just drain the contents, I can use the bottle to house a number of perfumes!

Wish I had 1200 Euro floating around to buy it with. Sigh. (Though if I had 1200 Euro, I’d probably go buy bottles of Vega, Carnal Flower, and Iris Poudre instead.)
