Yves Saint Laurent has launched Parisienne L’Essentiel, a new floriental variation on 2009's Parisienne:
Parisienne L’Essentiel, the very essence of feminine sophistication. It combines seductiveness, elegance, fascination and sensuality. Like the bottle with its black top and shades of violet, sparkling like vintage jewellery and as intricate as the streets of Paris.
The notes include vinyl accord, blackberry, pink pepper, rose, jasmine, tonka bean, musk and white leather.
Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne L’Essentiel is available in 30 and 50 ml Essence de Parfum.

The original had such potential, but was never quite as great as it could have been. Hopefully the balance is better in this one. Love the idea of a “vinyl accord’!
I have not tried any of the flankers…they did an Extreme last year that also sounded potentially interesting.
I own Extreme and love it. “Floriental” sounds good…
Oh, good to know!
I recall people saying that the original smelled like PVC or a new plastic shower curtain. At least YSL owned it and called the accord out.
The vinyl accord was slight, and mostly in the opening. I liked it. But didn’t love Parisienne enough to buy.
So is the new better than the original? I just bought a bunch of creed I am very happy with the excuse the spelling, FLEURS DE BULGARIE AND LOVE IN BLACK AND TUBEROSA. THE TUBEROSE IS MY FAVORITE ASIDE FROM THE ACQUA FIORENTINO. ANYBODY WANT TO SUGGEST ANOTHER CREED? Got the santal and it smells like my husband should wear it. Thinking about sending it back.
I have not smelled this one, so couldn’t say.
My elderly mother (very young at heart) loved the original so much that she has gone through a few bottles. I prefer Extreme but not enough to buy a bottle! This one sounds nicer with the added leather accord.
Your mother is not afraid to try something new!
She loves perfume-its genetic-and will happily wander around perfume counters spraying new and unusual perfumes on. Then its up to me to buy her one for her birthday, mothers day or christmas, sometimes all 3!
Lovely!
Wonder if this will see the light of day in the United States
