Tommi Sooni Eau de Tommi Sooni I & II, Jinx ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 24 October 2011 8 Comments

Tommi Sooni Eau de Tommi Sooni I & II

Australian indie niche line Tommi Sooni has launched two unisex fragrances, Eau de Tommi Sooni I & II (shown above), and Jinx (shown below), a new fragrance for women.

Eau de Tommi Sooni I ~ A woody oriental developed by perfumer Brett Schlitter; "Constructed on a base of huon pine and sandalwood, its subtle heart of jonquil, metallic rose and cigar accord peaks in a mingling of sparkling top notes - lime, lemon leaves and bergamot. Despite the cries for revolution, couples embrace in what could be their last dance together. A kiss, a moist brow, a heart beat." In 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Eau de Tommi Sooni II ~ A floriental. "Gently drift along the fragrant canals of South East Asia. Close your eyes and fall under the spell of the lilting boat, its scented oars of sacred sandalwood. Receive the offerings of sweet spices mixed with honey. Cherished gifts from the gods themselves. An airy, green oriental fragrance; created by Tommi Sooni for men and women who seek a distinctive fragrance of balance and character – radiant yet alluring. Rhubarb, bergamot and lemon notes ease into a heart of daphne, jasmine and ylang ylang. A rich base of honey, vanilla, amber and sandalwood firmly places this fragrance in the most exotic of perfume families." In 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Tommi Sooni Jinx

Jinx ~ A soft aldehydic floral. "Artists fall on the inspiration of a muse to create beauty with passion. Original, striking, alluring; Jinx the eau de parfum by Tommi Sooni, created for celebrated designer Vanessa Leyjonhelm. Vanessa traces her bloodline back to the islands of Greece, the land of ancient myths where Jinx the perfume was born. A light touch of Jinx on your skin opens with the full and bursting fruits of a fig tree under a clear Grecian sky. Shaded afternoon breezes drift through the green vine leaves and carry their scent to the sea. Fragrant traces of crushed basil on the palms of an adoring father as he embraces Vanessa, the precious child. A scented arrangement of flowers for our muse, and you, to envelope in: jasmine, lily of the valley, rose and ylang ylang. For depth and strength of character we introduce moss, vetiver, rock rose and white musk. The flashes of genius we see in Vanessa’s creations are here too in the guise of crystallized ginger." In 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

Ah, the ad copy is very much in usual “form” today. 😉

All that aside, these do sound sniff worthy. I wonder where they’ll be available and if they’ll ever make it to the States.

Are these the Tarantula/Tarantella people, or the Canturi people? I can’t keep Australian brands straight. Tarantula, I think…

So, I & II are both unisex, but Jinx is femme. Got it. If I see them being sampled somewhere, I might order one or three.

I think these have been available in Australia for a while. I bought Tommi Sooni 1 earlier in the year for my partner. I just went to their website but didn’t find jinx. I like # 1, its distinctive in a woody kind of way and I’d like to try jinx.

I bought Tarantella and it was a perfume that my partner was constantly asked what it was by her friends and even strangers some of whom would wrongly try to guess the name of it. People seemed to love it. If these new products are as good they will be fantastic great that they are uni sex. I assume the same outlet that sold Tarantella will sell these.

On their website I found stockists that have Jinx (and the others) but jinx is the only one not sold through their website yet?!

I’m a few days late in reading this review. I was intrigued, and also went back and read about Tarantella. I want to sample all three fragrances! So I went to the Tommi Sooni site and they have a special offer of three for the price of two. Unfortunately, there is an error with the payment button! I’ve written to them and hope they get it fixed so I can order my samples.

My poor wallet! I’m also craving a sample of Bottega Veneta and a few others I’ve read about here. So many perfumes, so little time!
