Sonoma Scent Studio Fig Tree ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 18 October 2011 18 Comments

Sonoma Scent Studio Fig Tree

Indie line Sonoma Scent Studio has launched Fig Tree:

Fig Tree has notes that represent the tree's leaves, fruit, and wood; it opens with the very green leaves, then moves into the creamy fruity notes in the perfume's heart, then evolves in the drydown as the woods emerge. It combines notes of green fig, cedar, creamy lactones, vanilla, tonka, and musk. Although it's a great scent for summer, it's also nice during the transition seasons of fall and spring, and it can offer a welcome reminder of summer anytime of year.

The notes feature green fig, vanilla, cedar, patchouli, tonka bean and musk.

Sonoma Scent Studio Fig Tree is available in 5 ($17.50), 17 ($34) and 34 ($65) ml Eau de Parfum.

Fig is one of my favorite notes and Sonoma Scent Studios one of my favorite houses, so I’m looking forward to this one. Has anyone sampled it yet?

I was one of Laurie’s testers on this, so I’ve smelled it throughout its development. I will tell you that I’ve yet to find a fig scent that didn’t smell like chemicals on me, so that I love Fig Tree is almost a miracle. It is a very smooth and beautiful fig scent. I find it quite addictive! Laurie is truly talented.

I think you’ll love this one, V. It is hands down the best fig I’ve smelled.

        Hi there Rappleyea!
        I love fig too…
I wanna know since you tested this.. are the vanilla and tonka too prominent?
I usually don´t like vanilla (or tonka for that matter) as they tend to overpower the other notes…

I agree with Rappleyea on this. I think this is a must-try for fig lovers.

I don’t have much experience with fig scents, but I’m eager to try this. SSS is one of my very favorite lines, and all the SSS scents are well made and interesting, even those that don’t work for me. I also appreciate that the ad copy isn’t full of nonsense.

to me, this is a very true fig scent. The tree and fruit. Very summer in Provence. My in-laws have a fig tree in their yard. While I hate eating figs, I do enjoy their scent.
