Dolce & Gabbana have launched The One Lace Edition, a new flanker to 2006's The One:*
Dolce & Gabanna reveal a more sensual and intimate facet of The One with The One Lace Edition, a new chapter in the tale of their eternal muse.
A sensuous fragrance that caresses the skin like lingerie.
The alluring scent captures the senses all at once with a blend of sparkling fruits and luminescent sweetness. A signature heart of decadent flora paint a picture of elegance and an assertive personality, while a deeply seductive drydown melts onto the body and lingers delicately like a second skin.
For this limited edition, the original The One flacon is swathed in lace, which works to soften the hard lines of glass with delicate femininity.
The notes include bergamot, mandarin, lychee, peach, lily, muguet, jasmine, plum, vetiver, amber, musk and vanilla.
Dolce & Gabbana The One Lace Edition is available now at Escentual in the UK, £52 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

* Note: it is being called a new fragrance, but it will not surprise me if it turns out to be just a collector bottle. The notes are identical to the original Eau de Parfum.
One of the more annoying things in the world of flankers is when you can’t tell whether it’s actually a new flanker or just a limited edition bottle.
When I worked in fragrance retail, there was constant confusion over this. I found myself constantly correcting fellow workers that just b/c it was a different, limited edition bottle, didn’t mean the juice was different. Oftentimes they wouldn’t even believe me!
I am 99% percent certain this is a collector bottle, but even Harper’s says it’s a new scent. We’ll see (or not, I’m not really likely to try it).
I do this every single day!!!!! It’s especially frustrating when the companies don’t tell you when they send it out and you’re forced to Google/guess. It’s not just co-workers who drive me mental, it’s the customers. The latest example would be the Daisy Hot Pink – I have had several customers insist that it is MUCH BETTER than the original EDP. In most cases, I just let it go – it’s not worth correcting them, they just get mad. The other customers, when I explain it’s the same fragrance but just a limited edition bottle, ALWAYS go “But, why? Why do they do that?”. As though I’m a fragrance manufacturer insider who can explain the mysterious workings of production – it couldn’t possibly be to make more money, could it?
“Newness” seems to be the buzzword in selling fragrance today, hence the proliferation of flankers and new bottle configurations with the same old juice. What customers really want is a new juice in a new bottle with a new name. But that would be way too expensive!
Customers moan when their favourite is discontinued. When they ask why, the answer inevitably is that it didn’t sell gallons worldwide. It’s all about the money!
The Bottle Tart in my says “buy it”
The Fume Tart in me says “not ANOTHER sparkling floral fruit punch”
It is pretty! And they did a pretty ad to match with Scarlett Jo. in black lace.
I’m the same – I love the bottle (which is weird, I don’t love a lot of LE bottles), but I’m really a bit over The One in all its varieties. I’m glad Robin made a point of saying that they’re likely the same fragrance – I thought I was going cuckoo when I read the notes. I don’t think I’ll purchase it, but I will admire it from afar.
I just saw a new print ad with ScarJo in lace and Lingerie and I got so excited but then I see it’s the old bottle : (. I’m sure she’ll have on the same thing for this ad. I do hope it comes to the U.S!
Oh — I made a mistake — that’s the same ad I saw. Assumed it was for the new one since they’re appearing at the same time, but you’re right.
i work as a vendor for this company. they told us its just a limited edition bottle, juice is the same. it should be in macys sometime next month
Aha, thanks!
So that means that the “more sensual and intimate facet of The One” is the lace on the bottle? I think the wording of the advert is purposely misleading – shame on D&G
yes it is just the bottle with lace. i put it on the other day, exact same juice.
