Esprit Urban Nature ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 1 September 2011 14 Comments

Esprit Urban Nature

Esprit has launched Urban Nature, a new duo in "celebration of a world in harmony – where one can find beauty in both nature and city".

Urban Nature For Women ~ "Like a city flower, Urban Nature For Women is a floral green fruity scent that delivers an alluring burst of natural femininity. The fragrance opens with a deliciously succulent blend of violet leaf and juicy apple fused with an intriguing hint of rich cassis crème. This melts into the floral heart of sweetly demure lily of the valley, creamy magnolia and exotic frangipani. The latter is an all-natural ingredient, taken from the white flower, which delivers a soft, sunny, slightly fruity dimension. The fragrance finally settles on a seductive base of vanilla, musks and amber woods, including natural tonka bean, which adds a warm caramel-like note, and natural cedarwood, derived from the spicy-resinous cedar tree, which gives a woody, mossy quality." In 15, 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Urban Nature For Men ~ "Exuding both naturalness and urbanity, Urban Nature For Men is a modern masculine fougère fragrance with a luminous green top note and oriental undertones. First, the senses are invigorated by a fresh blend of green pear and elegant bergamot together with a dash of pepper, an all-natural ingredient that adds a spicy zest. At its heart, a lightly floral blend of geranium, coriander and all-natural ciste labdanum - that ambery herbaceous shrub - gives the fragrance a contemporary sophistication. Eventually, it deepens to a sensual drydown with warm woody tones of cedarwoods, musks and tonka beans. Naturally-sourced nutmeg adds a spicy exotic touch, whilst all-natural patchouli delivers an earthy, smoky element that enhances the fragrance’s seductive appeal." In 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

I do think there are fewer coming out than there were last year, if that helps :-)

You mean there are only going to be about 500 of them this year instead of 600?

LOL! I think more like 300 instead of 600.

Eek. These sound like they want to be everything – fruity floral, oriental, fougere, fresh, gourmand – all at once.

They kind of do seem like they’re trying to cover all the bases.

Gack. A big ‘ol punchbowl of synthetic fruitly florally stuff.

The models don’t promote Urban Nature to me. They look like beatup city slickers.

Beatup city slickers might be just what they’re after ;-)

When I glanced at the picture of the two models I thought it had something to do with vampires. That guy looks starved and ready to sink his fangs into her neck!

If you cover both of their faces it looks like they’re both male. Just saying. Not that there’s anything wrong with being skinny, I just wish there were more curvy girls out there. (I know, a pointless thing to hope for.)

There are plenty of curvy girls, you just don’t see them working as models. I read that the standard for a “plus-size” model is size 8 or above. SIZE 8 IS PLUS-SIZE?!?!?! Heaven help us!

I didn’t know Esprit was still in business.

    Those models need sandwiches.

Urban but adjusted, flowers that grow in the urban jungle….
    Harmony for all…
Honestly the concepts get tired, I don’t have a doubt that the perfumes might be nice.. but color me jaded when I say I am much more likely to get exited by a perfume called “Loud” (I don´t like tommy’s frags, but I loved the concept) or “Chaos” (in that case I loved both the concept AND the frag)
Perfume can be highly conceptual, and that is ok, but most times the high concept frags´juices don´t live up to the hype … or even the packaging!
