The inclusion of thanaka is a nice touch – like sandalwood, but specific to the geographic and cultural theme.

Yes. It’s also in Kenzo Amour, IIRC.

It’s quite nice. I believe there’s cinnamon in it as well. The honey lends a slight similarity to Miel de Bois, but much softer, so I don’t want that comparison to scare anyone from sampling. I really enjoy the creations of PG.

oh, too late…..WAY TOO LATE. I was *this* close to panting over this one….then came that “miel de bois” comment…. CRASH and BURN….it’s like the perfect anti-lemming protocol…..
      well done, sir!

then I reread this line: “spicy powdery woods and centers on benzoin resin”. And Lemm all over again….sigh *hopeless*

Went to check, it is in the base notes of Kenzo Amour if that helps.

Thanaka is a paste made from the wood of a tree that grows in southeast Asia. It smells similar to sandalwood, is lemon-yellow in color, and is worn as facial adornment by people throughout the region.

Sounds wonderful! I love resins and woods. I just had to hop over to the PG website and stir up the Lemmings some more.

I’m joining in on this bandwagon! Sounds lovely, and benzoin is on my “favorite notes” list. Thanks for mentioning the Kenzo Amour, Robin; I only have two Kenzo frags, and this is one of them.

Maybe benzoin will be the next oud? Prada Candy comes out in about two weeks.

Kenzo Amour le Parfum is particularly benzoin-heavy and has been a fave of mine, can’t remember if tanaka wood is present in this flanker as a carry-over from the original Amour. But that was the first thing that came to mind when I read the Indochine notes.
