MCMC Fragrances Love & Phoenix ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 20 July 2011 16 Comments

MCMC Fragrances Love & Phoenix

Indie line MCMC Fragrances has launched Love and Phoenix, the final two fragrances in the Stories Collection that started with Noble, Maine, Hunter, Maui and Kept.

Love ~ "When I first fell in love, it was all fireworks and sparks and a rush of crazy dancing. The second time I fell in love, it was in a field by the ocean. My love is infinite. Intense and spicy top notes of Japanese yuzu citrus, French sweet basil and Chinese magnolia oil grow into the burning intensity of ancient templewood and gunpowder. The scent lasts forever, just like true love."

Phoenix ~ "Phoenix is about a girl I know. With fair skin and light blond hair, she’s ethereal and beautiful like a mythical fire bird. When I call her she does not come, but she floats in and out of my life. With top notes of peach and cherry blossom, gradually giving way to sturdy Tunisian neroli and a light, powdery vanilla."

MCMC Fragrances Love and Phoenix are available in 9 ml Perfume Oil or 50 ml Eau de Parfum. They can be ordered at the MCMC fragrances website. (via press release)

Gee, most folks have another name for beauties who do not respond to lovers’ invitations but leave and then come back on whim.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought something along the same lines.

The perfumer is a she, not a he. So she’s talking about a friend, not a lover.

Although come to think of it, I’m making a big assumption there. Still, many of us do have friends like that.

Maybe I’m judgemental, but I avoid friends like that. How can you consider someone a friend (or anything else special in your life) if they don’t respond to communication save for when it suits them?

Yes, I think they’re called “cats”. LOL!

Agree – he should have named it “Kitteh”.

“Love” sounds interesting. at $95 for a 40 ml EDP and $45 for a 9 ml perfume oil roll on though, I can’t say I’ll be racing out and sampling them any time soon.

They’re not cheap, but for an indie line, they’re not that bad either.

Has anyone tried any of the perfumes in this line?

I thought that both “Maine” and “Noble” sounded interesting, but, from what I can tell looking at the site, samples seem to be available only as sets of four, and “Maine” and “Noble” seem to be in two different sample sets.

You can get samples of the older ones at indiescents. Don’t know if the new ones are there yet. I like Maine and Noble quite a bit.

I thought of cats immediately when I read the description of “Phoenix.” Friends like that I don’t need, but cats…well, cats come with their own set of rules.

LOL! Good point. It does sound exactly like a spoiled house cat. Maybe that’s the real inspiration? Definitely a more pleasant fragrance than the one I usually associate with cats! ;-)
