Posted by Robin on 18 July 2011 9 Comments

Rocawear Evolution

Jay-Z's Rocawear brand has launched Rocawear Evolution, a new fragrance for men:

Rocawear Evolution is a rich woody oriental scent of assured masculinity that leaves the skin exuding an aura of sensual warmth and confidence.

Rocawear Evolution is available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette, and can be found now at Macy's. (via macys)

Wow. There’s thesaurus splattered all over that ad copy. How did that sneak past an editor without their head exploding?

I doubt they hired an editor for just that one sentence 😉

    “a… scent of assured masculinity”

Am I the only one who started laughing at this? No notes, just a vague “woody oriental” descriptive, and basically, “Trust us dude, you’ll smell awesome.” It’s pretty bad when even my boss laughs at that.

That might work at Macy’s 😉

Come on Jay-Z…your staff could have at least provided the notes instead of that bland description. I for one will try this because I like Rocawear 9IX. I didn’t care to much for 10.

Might be that Macy’s just didn’t bother to post it all? We’ll see when it goes online at Elizabeth Arden or elsewhere.

Here’s a break down of the notes from my training guide.

        Top: Mandarin, Rum, mango, Rhubarb
        Middle: Coffee, Incense, Nutmeg
Base: Woody Amber, Musk, Tonka Bean

I must say, that this is by far my favourite of the Rocawear line. If you liked 9IX, you’re sure to like this. It’s much more sophisticated, almost grown up in comparison.

Agree. Especially when you’re trying to sell fragrance online.
