Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2011, part 9

Posted by Robin on 14 July 2011 13 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Chloe Shirley compact

From Chloé, the Shirley compact: "This delicately engraved locket is a luxurious case holding the Chloé signature solid perfume. Featuring the original, distinctive notes of rose, the necklace presents a new way to wear perfume, a new ritual. A smart and timeless gesture. a touch of scent that can be delicately applied behind the ears or on the wrists." Coming in September, €60. (via press release)

Sisley, Eau de Soir

From Sisley, Eau de Soir in a limited edition bottle: "Every year the Eau du soir is renewed and takes on a totally new decoration. Thus, the limited editions form a real collection year after year. In 2011, the Eau du Soir covers with a new truly elegant, original and refined decoration." At Harrods in the UK, £165 for 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Hello Kitty Graffiti Rollergirl

At Sephora, the Hello Kitty fragrance in the limited edition Graffiti Rollergirl bottle: "Hello Kitty shows off her street style with this graffiti-inspired rollerball. It contains her signature fragrance, a scent that's sure to make you feel sweet and fancy." 10 ml Eau de Parfum, $18.

Davidoff Champion

From Davidoff, a limited edition 30 ml of Davidoff Champion: "Carrying on with the dumbbell concept, the bottle takes fans of the fragrance back to the gym for another workout – this time with a little less weight.  An ideal size for any athlete’s gym bag, the matte black bottle was inspired by the weights found at fitness centers.  It is capped with a real metal top and a stopper like the lock which fixes weights to the bar." I’m desperately lemming the Chloe locket. Solid perfume + locket = intersection of two of my obsessions.

Have you ever seen Marc Jacobs’ Daisy solid perfum locket? It’s wonderful! How about the solid fragrances: are they the same as the liquid ones?? Lasting power and sillage are also the same???

Sillage is usually lower, and shelf life generally is not as long. But, they’re usually small enough to use them up before the scent fades.

Wish they’d put the Love, Chloe scent in it instead.

Check out that hardcore “street style graffiti” by Hello Kitty. Yes, nothing says cutting edge gangsta like a bottle for sweet perfume in the form kitten wearing a bow next to her ear.

I’m so glad for that Hello Kitty bottle. I do so love to smell sweet and fancy but previously my hard-core street cred would not allow me such things. Now, with that edgy and street-style bottle, I can proudly own this.

2010’s Eau du Soir limited bottles were really cool: that grey and that black ones. This year’s not so beautiful.

This one isn’t my favorite either.
