Sisley Eau d'Ikar

Sisley will launch Eau d'Ikar, a new fragrance focused on mastic, in September. It is the brand's first scent for men.

Eau d'Ikar is a woody floral; notes include bergamot, lemon, bitter orange, carrot seeds, iris, jasmine, white tea, herbs/spices, amber, sandalwood and vetiver.

Sisley Eau d'Ikar will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via prime-beaute)

Update: see a review of Eau d'Ikar.

well that is an ugly bottle!
I don’t like the bottle or the typograhy…

I love Eau de Campagne and Eau de Soir/Soir de Lune.

I don’t think much of the 1,2,3 eaus.

I will have it in my hands probably by december… so expect a mini review here! 😉

I am not loving that look either.

I used to love Campagne, but last I smelled it, it was quite changed…more of a generic sport scent than it used to be. Boo hoo!

I need to smell it again!
I gave it to my partner as an anniversary present several years ago (I think 2005 or 2006) and I noticed that the “mossy” part was not as mossy as I recalled, but nonetheless very wearable…
        Will investigate!
        Cheers

It has most definitely changed again, within the past 2 years or so. In 2005 & 2006 is just when I should have bought it.

Robin, have you tried when it became a 100ml bottle instead of 122ml bottle as it always was? I think I know the old version and that’s soooo good, but the most pleasure notes run too fast. That cut-grass note is marvelous!

I don’t know at all…have not kept track of the bottle sizes.

Mastic is a very beautiful note and the only other fragrance that I have found it in a key role is Aqua di Biela Ca Luna. I will be looking forward to reading more and sniffing.

There is also Mystra, by Aesop, which is an Australian niche brand which has gone international. Have a look at:
      http://www.aesop.com/shopuk/section.php?xSec=20&xPage=1

I have some Mystra but like it only a bit. It is very dark. I think I have the EDT, which is not very long lasting, Would be worth trying the parfum, I think. .

You mean they ship internationally? Last time I checked they didn’t and although I have found their body line in a couple of shops in Athens and Amsterdam they didn’t carry the perfumes.

      There’s also 06130 Lentisque.

Mastic/Lentisque is related to the pistachio. I’m interested in sniffing this.

Hmm the bottle and packaging don’t exactly say luxe nor inspire desire.

They use a nice trick: the spray tubing has such optical properties that it is completely invisible inside the liquid. You have to look hard to see it. This gives it a very luxe feel. The abstract carvings is something they like at sisley.

Yeah! This is also used at Eau du Soir and Voyage D’Hermès and that’s very nice!!!! But this bottle…

It’s like Eau de Rochas Pour Homme flask!! I’ve heard: ” The better perfumes are on the worst bottles”. Maybe this can be true… 😉

This bottle, this box, uuugh! Hope the fragrance DO NOT be in conformity to the package. And that seems to be so pricey!!!! I like all the Sisley fragrances, although they don’t worth the price (excerpt for Eau du Soir). 1,2 and 3 eaus have so poor longevity; 1 and 2 are the better of the three for me.

This is intriguing to me: We’ve had several mastic trees in our yard, and I loved the scent when I had to trim them–green and fresh with a distinct warm nutty smell. I’d love to see what they’ve done with that wonderful scent in this fragrance!

The bottle is much better than the image! Its very tactile, and of course has that very eclectic arty design. The D’Ornano’s are great lovers of art.

The fragrance should not disappoint! I have smelled this fragrance and its warm but very fresh. Commercial with class!

I am wearing this fragrance today! It really reminds me of the Mediterranean sunshine every time I spray – must be that mastic. What is interesting is that apparently it’s present in the top, heart and base notes and as such it comes through the whole time you wear it. I’m pretty new to fragrances so that might be stating the obvious but for me that characteristic makes it really clever, and delicious.
