Mariah Carey will launch Lollipop Splash the Remix in July. The new fragrances — Inseparable, Never Forget You and Vision of Love — are flankers to last year's Lollipop Bling trio.
Inseparable (pink) ~ by perfumer Clement Gavarry, with notes of raspberry, mango, pear, jasmine and orange flower.
Never Forget You (orange) ~ by perfumers Claude Dir and Marypierre Julien, with notes of jelly bean and peony.
Vision of Love (purple) ~ also by by perfumers Claude Dir and Marypierre Julien, featuring macaroon and jasmine.
Mariah Carey Inseparable, Never Forget You and Vision of Love will be available in 30 ml Eau de Parfum, $35 each. (via wwd)
Maybe it is too early for my stomach, but Never Forget You sounds awful. And this coming from someone who owns and enjoys lots of gourmands, some of which fall into the celebrity category. The others don’t sound too terrible though Vision of Love might be okay if the jasmine used was a decent quality, which it likely won’t be.
The novelty of the first three sounded interesting enough, though I wasn’t about to pay retail for them. I wonder if they’ve hit the discount sites yet.
Can’t say jelly bean + peony is attracting me either.
One of the Lollipop Blings, I can’t remember which one, smelled very much like Dior J’adore, to me. It’s one of the few perfumes I have smelled and been immediately able to tell what other perfume it was obviously meant to smell like. The same thing happened with Harajuku Lovers Wicked Style Music. It smells exactly like Marc Jacobs Daisy and I knew it as soon as I smelled it.
To Absolute Scentualist, my local Walmart ended up marking the Lollipop Blings down to like five dollars, on clearance, before they finally sold out. I didn’t buy any, because the only cutely packaged celebrity perfume I indulge in is the aforementioned Harajuku Lovers. I don’t even wear those, but the bottles are too cute to pass up. I almost let myself fall victim to the Katy Perry Purr, because I am a cat lover and that bottle is to die for, but I really, really hate Katy Perry, so I restrained myself.
You picked right, IMHO…the Harajuku Lovers are way cuter than these.
okay, other then a sudden, acute attack of Diabetes….I think the bottles are way cute and the 12-15 crowd will go nuts for them.
Do I want to sniff? umm….no, not really. but I think I’d line those up on top of my perfume cabinet! (maybe on the side where the Bee bottles couldn’t see them. )
I smelled the first 3, but don’t think I’ll smell these.
I actually collect the Harajuku Lovers because they’re so adorable. I don’t have the Sunshine Cuties, but do have the Wicked Style and Snowbunnies lined up on the shelves next to my mirror. And the perfumes themselves are so tiny and last for all of five minutes that I don’t worry about them turning because I’ll probably use them up before then anyway.
ohstella, I didn’t notice a Daisy-alike in Wicked Style probably because I’m not too familiar with that one, but did notice another of them (I forget now) smelled a lot like Couture Couture, even with the dominant grape note and all. I think my fave has to be the original Baby, which seems to be the least favorite of most HL fans.
And yeah, the Katy Perry thing… I agree totally since my daughter loves cats, but I couldn’t bring myself to purchase the perfume and contribute, though the bottle is really cute.
I have all of the Harajuku Lovers, including the solids that are just the heads. I got the Wicked Style and Snowbunnies as collections, so those are still in their big dollhouse-y display cases, but the others are grouped together, amongst my perfume bottles, in little groups of the same character, in different incarnations. I have issues. *grin*
It’s funny, that you mention the one that smells like Couture Couture, which I’m assuming is Love, because when I smelled it, I recalled, immediately, Robin’s opinion about Couture Couture, which was that it smelled like grape Kool-Aid. Love totally smells like grape Kool-Aid to me. Overwhelmingly so. I really like Couture Couture, even, and I was still like, ew, no, when I smelled Love.
I don’t mind Baby. It kind of reminds me of Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, like it was made for some teenage girl who grew up smelling Classique on her mother. My least favorite Harajuku girl is Lil Angel. Especially the Sunshine Cuties version. It smells like lemon meringue pie. I do not like lemon meringue pie. I also don’t like G of the Sea very much, but the mermaid bottle was, again, too cute to pass up.
I envy you harajuku lovers collection. I only have the wicked style set.
I find the bottles vaguely menacing.
Totally agree, the way they are lined up is especially off-putting.
They look like neon hand grenades.
Not that I object to perfume bottles that look like hand grenades, but at least the Flowerbomb bottle was *supposed* to look like one. Doesn’t help that the notes (esp. for Never Forget You) predisposed me to think stink bomb.
Hmmm, maybe that could be the next trend in political protesting once glitterbombing dies out! Run up to your vitim and spritz them and the air around them with some incredibly vile and tenuous perfume that you regret having bought!
(Sorry about that, I saw a news story yesterday about some activist dumping glitter on Newt Gingrich and had to get it out of my head somehow.)
The butterflies? — of course, they’re butterflies, this IS Mariah Carey — look like a pair of angry scowling eyes … belonging to some creature out of Star Wars or something. I feel like the bottles are staring me down.
Holy crap you’re right! It looks just like that one alien with the angular head.
Wow. She’s really going well into foodie territory.
Do I dare say I like them more than the originals?! Haha! I really do though. They’re all SWEET as can be! They might scare you Robin. I’m ashamed, but I want them! Haha! They’re at Macys by the way. : )
They can’t possibly be any sweeter than the originals, LOL!
I was thinking the same thing and OH YES they can! Haha! : )
