Playboy London Playboy ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 1 June 2011 11 Comments

London Playboy by Playboy Fragrances

Playboy Fragrances will launch London Playboy, a new fragrance for men, in July. (Meanwhile, a new Playboy Club opens in London this week; the last one closed in 1981.)

The notes feature pink grapefruit, mandarin, galbanum, rose, cinnamon, Toscanol, Pisco brandy, tonka bean and Virginia cedar.

London Playboy will be available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products. (via pinkmelon.de)

i was actually pleasantly surprised by the previous Playboy fragrances. they smell much more expensive than they actually are.

    i’ll definitely try this one.

I LOVE the art on the bottle and especially the box. Except I don’t understand the safety pin through the bunny’s ear?

I don’t think I’d ever want to know a man of the type who would wear this.

Unless at this point in history it’s some kind of postmodern, ironic thing. In which case I still don’t get it.

I think it’s best to take it as postmodern irony, yeah. At at this point, there *is* something ironic about the whole Playboy mystique, right? Because by now there’s something almost innocent about it.

*Almost* innocent… I guess. But Hefner and his overinflated concubines and their reality shows still seem pretty tacky to me somehow.

Oh, beyond tacky! And objectionable, to me, in other ways as well. But still, so much less raunchy than what came after.
