The noses over at Fargginay, Inc. thought clearly the next step down the bacon-crazed path would be to smell like bacon and thus Bacon Perfume/Cologne was born.

It's up there with freshly cut grass and clean laundry as one of our favourite aromas, but would you really substitute your Chanel No 5 for a perfume that smells of tea?

Many thanks to everyone who sent in links!
The link announces that Oscar De La Renta is offereing samples of a new scent via Facebook.
And yes, I prefer my Green The Vert to Channel.
Yes, that’s this one:

Boo. I just ‘liked’ them and they say they’re out of samples.
Figures.
I’d be interested if that Tetley thing really does smell like brewed black tea, but I’m betting it doesn’t. So far, nothing’s been quite right. Smoky tea seems to come across well, and so does green tea, but black? Sigh.
I should bite the bullet and buy the CBIHP tea accord, which I didn’t want to do unsniffed, but since I *still* want a black tea scent and *still* don’t have one, maybe it’s the thing to do.
Tea is really hard to do right…I think what I’m after is not brewed tea but the scent of tea leaves from a just opened container. That’s one of my favorite smells in the world. I do like CBIHP’s Russian Caravan Tea, so that might bode well for the accord, I don’t know.
That’s good to know.
I’m with you, Mals & Robin: I’d love something that smells either like brewed black tea, or like inhaling from a tin of black tea leaves… both amazing smells.
I do like Dior Pondichery, but green tea smells or the mate accords in things like AG Duel or Cartier Fougeuse don’t really wow me. The CSP original Thé is good too, but now I’m curious about the CBIHP. I heard the Russian Caravan is very lemony, which doesn’t interest me.
the bacon product is kind of cute…. in a BK Flame way.
Yes, the CSP was almost too much black tea! Shame you can’t get it now.
OH, and yes, the RC is lemony … not straight tea at all, more like Earl Grey.
My most recent pet peeve, linguistic division: why don’t people use the correct word order when talking about substituting one thing for another? The lead for the Tetley story should ask “would you substitute a tea scent for your Chanel no5?”, meaning “would you wear this tea thing INSTEAD OF no5?” Instead, it asks whether I would wear no5 instead of the Tetley fragrance. Heck, yeah, I will – I probably won’t even bother to sniff the latter.
And they felt the need to tell us how to pronounce bacon??!! Ba-cone LOL
Ugh. I absolutely hate the bacon thing. It’s time to unbacon pop-culture.
And of all the things to purposefully spritz yourself with…bacon? (Assuming, of course, that it actually smells like bacon and doesn’t just have some magiced-up “bacon accord”.) Really, who wants to smell like meat?
