Parlez-moi d’Amour, named after a song, will likely disappear without regret. Few people would proudly admit to wearing a perfume connected to the scandal.
— John Galliano's perfume, Parlez-moi d'Amour, fades away. Read more at John Galliano’s perfume removed from some shelves at the Globe and Mail.
Interesting point (at the end of the article) about Nazi memorabilia collectors. Retail should let this one die quietly, imho.
I seriously doubt anyone will see Parlez-moi as Nazi memorabilia…but it might become a collector’s item all the same.
Give a man enough rope and…
Hope it’s true that he’s in rehab.
there go my chances of smelling like a blueberry 🙁
That’s alright – you won’t have to worry about attracting Oompa Loompas!
LOL!
What will not go without regret is the Diptyque room spray bearing his name. I love that thing and Olivia Giacobetti probably had a great deal more to do with it than Galliano. Both Nahla (mentioned in the article) and Fred at Noor loved it, too – though I understand why they would not re-roder. Not overlooking the awfulness of his behavior, obviously – I am utterly repulsed by what he said. But it will be a shame if Diptyque suffers for the connection.
Totally agree…it is a wonderful scent, and hate to see it go.
They could rename it Giacobetti.
I was going to say, no reason they can’t just repackage/rename like so many other companies have done.
Was in Diptyque store today & they told me they have been told to remove it from display & they cannot actively sell it, but can still sell it if a customer specifically asks for it. They also said that they would not be producing more once current stock has gone. Same story in Selfridges where they had removed it all from display & locked it away in a cupboard in the back area
Makes sense, thanks Nathan.
Here they just came out with his new fragrance I was so against even trying it .But, the bottle is so darn cute so sprayed some on my wrist. Its smells so good!!!!! this is probally the best fragrance I tried in a long time its a rose but fresh slightly sweet. The tester bottle was almost empty too.For perfume sake this would be a real pity to remove from the shelves.I think what he said was horrible but the perfume smelled so good!
No flames please (((group hug))).
Hey, nobody here will flame you for liking a perfume!
LOL I can still smell this fragrance I sprayed on my wrist.I think it has Patchouli in it but I cant detect it.Its very nicely done for an edt.I won’t buy it but I do find it very nice better than the first one.
I own a bottle of the room spray and will still enjoy it, but every time I look @ it, this incident will probably go through my head.
Happens when I hear a Michael Jackson song (weirdness, allegations) and if anyone else follows professional sports – he’s practically a choirboy compared to some of those guys.
Boy, if we have to stop buying everything connected to prejudiced morons, there’s not going to be a whole lot left on the shelves!
Amen !
this comment reminds me of when someone I know said she wouldn’t buy Guerlain’s Météorites makeup anymore after Jean-Paul Guerlain’s racial remarks…but Coco Chanel is like her ~*idol*~
