LOL. I’ve been sort of feeling like a perfume snob by dismissing all the VS scents out of hand. Until I smelled them. They aren’t terrible, and a couple of them get three stars from LT/TS, but my main impression is that is $45 I could spend on something I really like.

I thought that series based on fabrics was nicely done, but yeah, I don’t really think the VS line is much of a bargain in general.

I admit to having become a snob ) : But then its the pedestrian marketing that puts me off from even smelling the stuff.

I’ve been the same way, but their post-holiday sale this year was too tempting for me. I went in there and spritzed away and ended up walking out with two “parfum” bottles for $5 each and some of their “natural” line body spritzers, too. I walked out with a very heavy bag with a receipt under $50! Just sayin’… 😛

I guess I think of VS as being the snobs! Not that they really deserve to be, but my few shopping experiences have been less than charming. I, therefore, out of principal, don’t give them my money any more! I’m sure it’s technically unfair to judge an international company on a couple less-than-classy SA’s, but hey, that’s how I feel! *stomps foot stubornly*

RossM and Julia I agree with both of you.
Now if they would relaunch the orginial perfume they made, I would push small children and mall walkers out of my way to buy a bottle!

Amen the original Victoria was the best back in the day when they used to be elegant.I even wrote to them along with another MUA member and they said they would not release it again.Too bad every thing else from them just smells the same.Blah.

Their old Fragrance Encounter would make me do the Same! it was really quite Wonderful! Watery and Vanilla-y Floral without being assertive or wan! Really perhaps their best… but me and Victoria’s Secret have a kinda bad history… i got arrested for shoplifting a bottle of Rapture when i was 17! LOL! silly youth!

Oh wow! I remember Victoria, Encounter and Rapture from back in the day! I got a little miniature set with Victoria and Encounter as a gift once and felt like the cat’s pajamas when I wore it! 🙂

But yes, the latest VS perfumes (save for the ones based on fabrics which I actually liked) have been so derivative of one another. The most recent VS frag I bought was the grapesicle line many years back since that still seems to be a novel fragrance on its own and hard to find, and Rapture since I’ve been wearing that one for years for sentimental reasons. But a friend of mine loves Heavenly and I admit that I don’t get it.

I was thinking that Incredible is such an obvious, and good, name for a scent that it’s a wonder nobody has ever used it before: it seems like a natural for an American line such as Calvin Klein or Estee Lauder or Elizabeth Arden. And lo and behold, it has been used before, sort of: Escada did Incredible Me in 2008.

I can’t comment on the scent because I have never knowingly smelled a single VS scent and I expect that will still be true when I am in my grave.

Haven’t tried this one and I don’t think I’ll bother. Another fruity-floral in a screaming PINK bottle. Repetative is right. Out of curiosity I did recently push past the strollers and little girls clogging up the frighteningly PINK aisles at VS to sniff Bombshell and Sexy Little Things Noir (the packaging was so cute I couldn’t resist) and was disappointed (but not surprised) that the juice was unremarkable. Both were fruity-florals that smelled no different than every other fruity-floral on the market. Fruity-florals in a sexy bottle is like a little girl playing dress up in her mother’s black evening gown, cute but hardly sexy—which come to think of it is how I think of the entire VS brand.
