Floris Wedding Bouquet ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 9 February 2011 18 Comments

Floris has launched Wedding Bouquet, a new fragrance for women created to honor the upcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton:

Created exclusively to celebrate the marriage of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton, Wedding Bouquet draws inspiration from the most acclaimed Floris wedding fragrances of the past whilst introducing a modern twist using a white flower theme.

Jasmine to signify eternal love
Lily of the Valley says 'you have made my life complete'
Orange Blossom conveys innocence and marriage
Stephanotis signifies happiness in marriage

Additional notes include citrus, sandalwood and musk.

Floris Wedding Bouquet is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum, £90. (via florislondon)

    Wow, that was fast! LOL!

Love the way she has to be called ‘Catherine’ now.

Does she have to? I mean, is she asking to be called Catherine?

She is not asking to be called Catherine; protocol requires it. The Press will probably carry on calling her Kate, but officially she’s Catherine now.

Not *that* fast. After all, if you look at how long they’ve been dating, or even just how long the engagement rumors have been flying, that’s plenty of time. For that matter, they had to assume he’d eventually marry someone… could have made this thing up 20 years ago. :D

The official announcement is very recent. Nothing was 100% sure: they broke up once so they might have again.

Stephanotis? In case i am not alone in not knowing what kind of plant/flower this is: “Stephanotis is also known as madagascar jasmine, bridal veil, and the wedding plant (due to its popularity in wedding bouquets). Native to Madagascar, it is a woody, twining vine that produces fragrant white flowers.” Isn’t internet convenient….

I had stephanotis in my wedding bouquet. It does smell lovely.

Stephanotis was so expensive at the time of my wedding (and me unemployed) so I substituted bouvardia instead. No smell (except for my perfume), but visually a nice knockoff.

I had stephanotis in my wedding bouquet as well, along with carnations. The lilies-of-the valley were silk, though–it was September.

Back in the mid-’90s, Floris had a Stephanotis fragrance that was GORGEOUS! It was my favorite along with the Edwardian Bouquet.

I have a old bottle of Caswell-Massey pure stephanotis essential oil which I cherish. Stephanotis has all the indoles of jasmine counterbalanced by a clean, bright, soapy quality that keeps the down-and-dirty aspect under control. It implies sexiness and innocence all at once… perfect wedding fragrance component.

Sounds like a good candidate for a just plain pretty fragrance. If I love it, I’ll have to rename it, though.

Yeah. Not a great name unless you’re about to get married.

The notes don’t sound all that interesting to me…although I do like Floris fragrances in general.

This actually sounds quite nice, and as long as you kept the bottle hidden and made up a name when people asked what you were wearing….

It does sound nice, but I will probably never smell it. I never see
Floris products in my area .
