Affliction Cologne ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 18 December 2010 10 Comments

Affliction cologne

The Affliction clothing brand has launched their debut fragrance for men, Affliction Cologne:

Affliction is designed for the guy who demands attention. The cologne is inspired by the brands highly styled rock n roll lifestyle. The subtle power of this cologne conveys the attention to detail contained in each Affliction piece and is the finishing touch to the Affliction Man. The scent is as distinctive as the man who wears it!

Affliction was developed by perfumer Yann Vasnier; the notes include lemon, persimmon, pear, cade wood, jasmine, juniper, sweet almond, mahogany, tonka bean, patchouli and musk.

Affliction Cologne is available in 120 ml for $60, and can be found at Buckle. (via press release)

Affliction cologne – for the man who wears Ed Hardy clothes and doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘affliction’.
The notes sound alot like the Cade fragrance sold @ L’Occitane.

With a name like that, the snarks just write themselves…

It sounds nice for summertime, however.

    “Demands attention” yet “subtle”?
The scent is as distinctive as the man (x 1M) who wears it!

    I shouldn’t knock it unsniffed–perhaps it’s marvelous.

I should actually think about what this smells like before I snarkify it, but I don’t possess anywhere near the restraint to do that.

Affliction- the choice scent for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Pestilence claims it to be his favorite workday fragrance.

Everyone: sorry for the late reply. It is hard not to snark, but this sounds like it could be nice. I have never heard of Affliction or Buckle, so not likely I’ll run across it though.

I have a confession to make: ahem ahem, cough cough – I love the affliction/ ed hardy style of clothing. In fact I just got a stunning asian knock-off only yesterday. I think styles that are based on tattoo art want to be imitated and sold off illegitimately! I mean, sailors just aren’t so highly paid. Ed hardy perfume didn’t appeal to me much though – its his tattoos that do; even if its on the shirt rather than the stomach!

Some clothing brands produce some good fragrance sidelines, Juicy Couture and Banana Republic spring to mind.

don’t know – the alabaster etc from banana republic were pretty off-putting to me…
