Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint Germain ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 15 December 2010 17 Comments

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint Germain

Next up from Diptyque will be 34 Boulevard Saint Germain, a new fragrance celebrating the line's 50th anniversary and named for the street address of their original boutique in Paris.

Roman Kaiser of the headspace program at Givaudan assisted in capturing the odor of a Diptyque store; the notes include cassis, green leaves, citrus, spices, rose, geranium, tuberose, iris, violet, woods, balsams and eucalyptus.

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint Germain will be available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching bath, body and home fragrance products. It is due to launch in March. (via marieclairemaison, elleuk)

Update: here is the bottle for the Eau de Toilette, which runs $100 for 50 ml ~

Oh, this looks interesting. i have always loved Diptyque and this might be a new spring scent. They always have so lovely drawings on their bottles and many of their scents are just amazing.

I have high hopes for this one, it sound like it might have more bite than their last few.

Adding that – often, the scent of the fragrance shops are better than any of the individual offerings.

Omg, I think you’ll knock out yourself just unboxing the candle!

Absolutely! Do you have a box where you keep your samples? And doens’t this have the most divine smell? I wish someone would do a perfume like that!

I agree- my massed sampled smell wonderful. I was thinking of that the other week, and had to stop myself from combining all of them together! I’m looking forward to trying this one. I don’t have a lot of experience with Diptyque, but I do like Eau Duelle.

OperaFan, I totally agree! When I open my perfume cabinet each morning, the smell that wafts towards me is the *best* think I’ve ever smelled. It’s what inspired me to try my hand at layering (with some success and plenty of failure 😉 )

Oh, yes – my perfume cabinet and sample boxes smell so lovely. I mean, it’s a big mishmash, and a bit (dare I say?) old-fashioned, but I like that so much.

I do love perfume shop/cabinet/hatbox smells! Duptyque does some amazing scents, and I’ll look forward to this one.

My only concern is that there is eucalyptus in this scent. I hope its not too overwhelming. But if I know Diptyque right, it will be balanced very well 🙂

no. 5 is perfect, then no. 22 , no. 18 are already forced, but now 34 bd. Saint Germain? What if the boutique address gets more complicated? Let’s imagine Bd. Haussmann 112 A, apt. 456?
