Posted by Robin on 13 December 2010 17 Comments

DSquared2 He Wood Silver Wind Wood

In February, DSquared2 will launch two new flankers for its He Wood / She Wood lines: He Wood Silver Wind Wood and She Wood Golden Light Wood.

He Wood Silver Wind Wood (shown) was developed by perfumer Daphne Bugey; the notes include lavender, sage, incense, nutmeg, musk, cedar, vetiver, amber and vanilla. It will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

She Wood Golden Light Wood, also from Bugey, features lemon, orange blossom, neroli, heliotrope, musk, vetiver and cedar wood. It will be available in 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

I haven’t smelled any from that brand…but the female one, sounds pretty ok. Not something I would buy without smelling.

The originals were nice enough, although I didn’t adore them. Worth trying, anyway.

This brand always sounds really great, but I’ve never been able to smell them because there isn’t a retailer near me.

“Wind Wood” sounds like woodwinds to me – clarinets, oboes, and the like.

“He Wood Silver Wind Wood” just sounds silly to me — too long, among other things.

I think I saw one perfume species from this brand at a big middle-eastern fashion store in May this year !!!!

Have yet to try any of the Dsquareds, and He Wood Silver Wind Wood is just a silly name.

Silver Wind on its own, though… that’s a lovely image.

I liked the original He Wood well enough to buy a 30 ml bottle. It is my only violet centered scent.
But I felt nothing for the other scents in the line. I will try those new ones, they don’t sound to bad (aside from the names…)

I really love both the male and female versions of this line, so I am looking forward to trying these. It is a shame that they couldn’t come up with better names.

I also enjoyed the original as far as a nice, masculine violet goes. Didn’t love it enough to buy it. I’m on the fence with getting a bottle of the Rocky Mountain Wood, however. The woody notes hang on a lot longer… Those two are currently available at the Sephora I frequent here in LA, for those of you looking. Bottom shelf…

I have not smelt this brand, but the name is kind of catchy,esp.”SheWood”. Sounds like a super heroine!

I liked the original one for women, but not enough to add it to my (already extensive) collection. I’m looking forward to trying this flanker, which sounds even nicer!

I eagerly await these because I am a fan of He Wood Ocean Wet Wood. After working in the perfume dept. all day, it’s the one I spray on when leaving to go home. Love it! The female version (Creek Wood) is perfectly fine too but I prefer the saltiness of the male fragrance.
As for long names, let’s not forget Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Light Breeze! When adding flankers, it does tend to get a bit ridiculous.

Same boat here. Liked the original He Wood, but not enough to buy. Original She Wood was a disappointment.

Smelled and got a vial of He Wood Rocky Mountain, but it was just another vetiver scent that I have laying all over my house. Haven’t smelled the second She Wood.

And this new He Wood makes me not excited at all, yuck, vanilla.

But the new She Wood with neroli top and cedar base sounds lovely!

These, Even though sadly are flankers, always excite me… the originals were in my humble opinon, INCREDIBLE Smelling, both evenly excellent, although because i am a guy the man’s version was a slight winner for me, and the flankers, so far have all been VERY well done yet very under appreciated and under represented here in the states… I look forward to these very very eagerly! LOVE THE BOTTLES ALSO!!!!!
