What is it: For anyone who has not had luck so far with the Tauer Advent calendar (don't forget, you can still enter every day!), here's another chance. I have a lovely bottle of Tauer's Le Cologne du Maghreb (yes, it smells great, and I would keep it if I could) up for grabs. I have tried it several times, but the bottle is still at least 98% full. I've also got six 10 ml "Victorian tear catchers" filled with the Happ & Stahns 1842 Rosa Alba fragrance. So we're looking for 7 winners total.
How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment telling me that you live in the US. Also, please tell me a) the name of your favorite mascara, or b) the name of a favorite movie, new or old, that you think everyone should see, or c) the celebrity that you think ought to launch a perfume.
Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! Replies to comments will be deleted!
The contest will be open until around noon on Thursday, and I'll announce the winners on Friday.
The fine print: Don’t enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it most always takes me at least a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.
Hi Robin. I live in the U.S. Everyone should see Quest For Fire, a great cult film! Please enter me in the contest. Thanks!
I live in the US.
My favorite movie is The Godfather.
You have permission to use my e-mail address.
Thanks!
Would love to give this a sniff. In any case, live in the US.
My absolute favourite mascara is DiorShow Blackout. It’s amazing & can make even the tiniest of lashes pop. It’s a bit pricey, but the results are amazing.
And just because for a film, Sunset Boulevard.
I live in the U.S.
I think Robert Downey Jr. should launch something really excellent.
You have permission to use my email address in the user account.
Thank you!
I live in the US and my favorite mascara is the sadly discontinued L’Oreal Featherlash. I’m rocking classic Maybelline until I find a new favorite. Thanks for the giveaway!
I live in the U.S. I can’t think of a single celebrity who should launch a perfume, except Hermione from the Harry Potter movies, because she is so great with potions. Unfortunately she doesn’t exist.
Everyone should see this 1939 movie, which is about class structure in rural Kansas, the loneliness of growing up, learning which childhood fantasies one must take into adulthood, distinguishing between true magic and flim-flammery, and about a thousand other real important things. It also has a really cute dog, a set of horrifying witches (dual role by a former legend in my neighborhood), some of the greatest performances in Hollywood history and the greatest song of Hollywood history.
I speak, of course, of the Wizard of Oz.
Last year’s Oscar winner the Hurt Locker was really great. It seems to be the one Academy award winner that no one has seen.
I live in the U.S., and the celebrity who should come out with a fragrance is Helen Mirren.
Hi Robin,
I live in the US.
And I love, love, love purple mascara. Shiseido was my favorite, but they discontinued the color (I heard a rumor that it’s coming back for the spring, though!). I’ve been using Tokidoki, which is cute. Perhaps too cute.
I live in the US.
Casablanca! (If there’s anyone who hasn’t seen it.)
You may use my email.
I live in the US, and my favorite mascara is Origins’ Full Story, a non-fiber, gel-based mascara: I wear contact lenses and have allergy issues, and this is the only mascara I can wear day after day without any kind of reaction 🙂
Hi Robin!
I live in the US! And everyone should see Apocalypse Now… Permission to use email, granted.
I live in the US and I use double extend mascara. It doesn’t irritate my eyes and it doesn’t flake.
I live in the US, you have my permission to use the email address, and I think everyone should see Spinal Tap!
I live in the U.S. and you may use my email.
As for celebrity fragrance, how about Annie Leibovitz? The fragrance would smell of dark-room chemicals and flash-bulb sulfer. It will be produced by Etat Libra d’Orange and they will call it “Say Cheese!” And yes, I too am a photographer. 🙂
I live in the US. And I actually am intrigued by the idea of a Diva Von Teese scent.
I live in the US.
I love Fiberwig mascara (it’s Japanese but they carry it at Sephora). Everyone should see Chinatown–such an amazing Roman Polanski movie! And I wish that no more celebrities would launch perfumes! 🙂
Hi Robin – I do indeed live in the US. My fav mascara is Trish McEvoy Lash Curling Mascara. I think everyone should see the movie Black Dynamite which is recent (2009) hilarious spoof on 70s blaxsploitation movies. http://www.blackdynamitemovie.com/
I live in the US. Ive never bought a celebrity scent, but i bet one launched by Radcliffe(Harry Potter) would sell quite well. I imagine there is already one (or more) at Black Pheonix Alchemy that probably fits to a T.
Hi Robin! I live in the US, go ahead: make free and easy with my email!
My current favorite Mascara (and I’ve tried a lot…from Chanel & Guerlain to Covergirl from the Walgreens) is L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes —no it doesn’t turn me into Eva Longoria or suddenly look like I’m wearing 6 pairs of false lashes….but it doesn’t flake or smudge, the brush is excellent at eliminating clumps (I’ll tell ya what, it’s all about the brush) and it comes off easily with Neutrogena make up remover…I’ve had some mascaras that practically require dynamite and a jackhammer to remove!! Best movie: Avatar. Sorry, I’m a kid at heart. 🙂
Born in the ol’ US of A!!!
I live in the U.S.!
a) Favorite mascara – Cover Girl Lash Blast
b) Favorite movie – The Philadelphia Story
c) Celebrity perfume – Lady Gaga (sounds like it’s already in the works?)
Thanks, Robin and Andy!
Hello, I live in the USA. Current favorite Mascara is Neutrogena Weightless Volume Wax Free Mascara.
Hello,
I live in U.S.
My favorite movie would have to be True Grit (the old one with John Wayne).
I live in the U.S.
Movie? Manhattan: Woody Allen at his peak, Meryl Streep at the beginning of her film career, Diane Keaton in her prime, Gordon Willis’ gorgeous photography, Gershwin’s music, the list of things that make life worth living, Mariel Hemingway’s line at the end about having faith in people. Funny and bittersweet.
-I live in the U.S. and you can use my email on file if I win.
-One of my favorite movies that does not get much publicity is Adam starring Hugh Dancy. It is a great movie!
Thanks for the drawing, Robin. I live in the US.
a: Diorshow Blackout mascara is sick! One of the best mascaras I’ve tried, though now I’m curious about the Fiberwig. 🙂
b: V for Vendetta is one of my fave movies, but I also love Silence of the Lambs.
c: If I could go back in time, I wish Mae West had created a perfume, but if I had to pick someone more recent, it’d have to be Charlize Theron for her seemingly effortless glamour and not making a nnuisance of herself in the press.
Hi Robin,
a) don’t use mascara (due to laziness);
b) I also watch about 5 movies a week, so it’s hard to even remember them all. The last movie that really-really grabbed me was Moon, by David Bowie’s son.
c) and speaking of, I would buy a David Bowie fragrance!
I live in US, and you have my permission to email me.
I live in the US and you can use my email on file if I win.
My favorite movie is Groundhog Day. It’s not only a great romantic comedy, but it also has a much deeper undercurrent of meaning.
I live in the US, Robin, and I haven’t had any luck with Andy’s Advent this year (yet).
Alas, I’m in trouble with your questions, since (a) I don’t use mascara, and (b) I don’t really care much about movies. So I guess I need a celebrity. I’d like to see a perfume from a famous writer. Problem is, the writers I really like (Gene Wolfe, Robert Jenson, David Hart, P. G. Wodehouse, Lois McMaster Bujold) are hardly celebrities! Maybe we can convince Terry Pratchett to launch a perfume?
I live in the US and you can use the email in my account
I think everyone should see Andrei Rublev
(I don’t wear mascara and I think Lady Gaga could back a pretty interesting fragrance)
I live in the US! Still trying with Andy’s calendar as well!
Fav. movie by far: Now, Voyager!!! Oh, if Bette had released a celebrity perfume!
I live in the US and you can use the email in my account.
I think everyone should see Satyajit Ray’s film (based on the novel by Rabindranath Tagore) The Home and the World.
I live in the USA and yes permission to email granted!
a) Currently trying out Sephora Advanced Lash Booster, which I’m liking, but I usually use L’Oreal Voluminous.
b)Toss up between In a Lonely Place, a twisted, psychological noir starring Bogart and directed by Nicholas Ray, and Godard’s Contempt. Although when in an Alan Rickman mood, nothing but Sense and Sensibility will do…
c) Celebrity perfume? Keith Richards. That would be interesting…
I do live in the US … please do use my email – favorite mascara is Blinc – favorite movie a tossup between Amelie and A Man and A Woman – I’m sure the world doesn’t need another celebrity fragrance. xoxo
I live in the USA and you have permission to use my e-mail. I have not had much experience with Tauer fragrances. Here’s hoping that is about to change 🙂
I live in the USA.
Favorite movie: Dangerous Liaisons.
You can certainly use my email address though I suspect I check the blog more often than the email…
I live in the US, and you have permission to use the email address in my reader account to contact me.
I think everyone should see “The Best Years of Our Lives” (1946), one of the best movies ever made.
My favorite mascara is the Bare Escentuals Flawless definition mascara. It is the only one I can wear all day without my eyes itching and turning red.As for favorite movies that varies from day to day but
I do think everyone should see “84 Charing Cross Road ” with Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins; it is a book lovers delight. I also agree with the suggestion above that Helen Mirren should bring out a celebrity scent. Also I do live in the United States and you have permission to use my email address.
Hello Robin!
I live in the U.S. Everyone should see All the Little Animals, which is a beautiful movies from the late 90s that is woefully underappreciated. Please enter me in the contest. Thanks!
I live in the US, and you have permission to access my email.
I was going to suggest Helen Mirren for the celebrity launch, but several people have beaten me to it, so I’ll go with a movie: The Third Man (1949). Great film — and zither music, too!
I live in the U.S.!
I would love to smell a perfume by Helena Bonham Carter. I’m thinking roses, tar, and tincture of opium poppy.
I am a mascara expert. I have tried it all and have decided to stick with Dior Extase. One of my favorite movies is Dancer in the Dark, starring Bjork. And if she launched a fragrance I would definitely buy it because it would be like no other.
I do live in the United States and you have permission to use my email address.
Thank you for the opportunity to win new perfume.
I live in the U.S. and and you have permission to use my email address. After much searching, my favorite mascara is definitely Lash Blast. Comparable to DiorShow IMHO and cheap enough to replace every three months!
DiorShow, all the way. And I live in the US and you have permission to use my email.
I’d have to recommend the 1930’s classic Grand Hotel; if not for the all star cast but for the sets and art direction alone. This is a fabulous film! live in the US and have permission to use my email. Would love to win these for my museum! 🙂
I live in the US and you have permission to use my email address.:)
-My favorite mascara is Cover Girl LashBlast. LOVE it!! Does it all.
– Hmm, I’m not really much of a movie buff, but thinking of my husband and daughter I will say Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
– For a celebrity perfume….this might sound a little silly, but I would like to see what Kate Hudson would do with one. She is so sunny and smiley- I picture something summery and warm, which sounds very appealing to me today – it’s 12 degrees ouside!!!!
How interesting that so many of us thought of Helen Mirren. She was my first choice. I like the Robert Downey, Jr. suggestion above, also.
I live in the U.S. and you have permission to use my email address.
Oh yay! I seem to only remember to check Andy’s calendar on the days it’s hosted by a blog I don’t frequent, so I haven’t been entering. I live in the US (you have email consent), don’t wear eye makeup anymore, nor do I follow celebrities, but the movie I think everyone should see (an oldish one) is Until the End of the World.
Hello – (habitual lurker here…)
I live in the U.S. and think everyone should see Jean Cocteau’s 1946 black and white fantasy “Beauty and the Beast.”
I live in the US. I think everyone should see Life is Beautiful.
I live in the US, and you have permission to use my email.
One of my favorite movies is Ernst Lubitsch’s Trouble in Paradise, which is actually kinda sorta perfume related! Lovable thieves Herbert Marshall and Miriam Hopkins set out to fleece perfume magnate Kay Francis. Prosperity is just around the corner….
I live in the US.
favorite mascara – Maybelline Full n Soft. Love it forever.
I have a US mailing address if that counts-my mom could hand-carry the goodies if I was lucky enough to win!
Fave Mascara- Prescriptives Lash Envy, now discontinued so I am making notes from all the answers here!
Movie – Grosse Pointe Blank for a good giggle or Moon for a good think
Celebrity- Tori Amos or Judi Denxh
I live in the US, on the coast of lovely California.
My favorite mascara is Lancome L’Extreme. I wear it in Brown–it is softer than Black.
Thanks for the giveaway!!
I live in the US, and you have permission to use my email.
Favorite mascara (before I got my lash extensions-so I am a lash nut) – DiorShow Black Out Mascara.
Great movie that I think everyone should see – Bringing Up Baby is an all time fav.
I love Steve Buscemi (am I weird?) and I think he would launch a great man fragrance.
I live in the US. I think everyone should see V for Vendetta, if only for the speech by V.
I live in the US and my favorite mascara OF ALL TIME is Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes.
Hi Robin, I live in the US, and, after trying at least a dozen different mascaras, from high to low end, I’ve discovered my love for Maybelleine Classic Volum’ Express Hydrofuge mascara, in the waterproof formula.
I live in the US, and here are my answers:
a) Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara
b) Battlestar Glactica 🙂
c) … and I’m going to agree with these other smart people and say Helen Mirren! 🙂
Hi, I am a resident of the U.S. (but do love my vacations abroad), and you can contact me via my email. Since I don’t use mascara I’ll give you two films: Louis Malle’s 1957 French thriller ELEVATOR TO THE GALLOWS with the deadly beautiful Jeanne Moreau and a Miles Davis soundtrack, and Akira Kurosawa’s classic RASHOMON. As for celebrity scents, just stick to being good and what you do, leave the scents to the professionals in the fragrance business. (If I’m forced to pick one, how about Noomi Rapace)
I live in the US! 😀
If you haven’t seen Pulp Fiction, I feel bad.
I live in the United States. I am quite delighted at the thought of Robert Downey, Helen Mirren and Annie Leibovitz perfumes and can’t improve on those suggestions. My favorite mascara is Josie Maran Instant Volume because the argan oil in it seems to keep my eyelashes from getting brittle. I think if everyone watched The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, the world would be a better place . Please enter me in the draw.
I live in the United States. You can use my email address.
I use Rouge Bunny Rouge Mascara in Sable. Favorite movie: “Broken Flowers”.
Courtney Love should launch a fragrance and makeup collection, right on time for a long awaiting Kurt Cobain movie. (If it ever happens) So the fragrance could be named “Nirvana” and should include a full size bottle of edt and a few travel vials along with a box of body powder. the makeup collection should be named Hole and include very dark liners, red lipstick and a liquid makeup (heavy coverage). Some face powder, too. Everything packed in heart shaped box. Type of fragrance: tbd but have a few ideas…Others migt have them too.
I live in the US!
a) haven’t found a great one, but I only use it on special occasions – right now Maybelline Full N Soft for not so dramatic and Cover Girl Lash Blast for more dramatic
Thanks Robin!
I am still in the US, and you certainly may use the email in my profile.
I am another L’Oreal Double Extend user.
Favorite movie is hard. I would have to say Cold Comfort Farm or Enchanted April or Truly, Madly, Deeply. But, honestly, I could watch The Incredibles every day. Or Wall-E. So there ya go.
I wish that celebrities would stop making perfume, for the love of puppies. But FragrantWitch is right; Judy Dench would make one hell of a perfume. Along the same lines, I’d vote for a Stephen Fry fragrance. It would be respectful and supportive, never mean, and would never make you feel guilty about how you look or the choices you’ve made in your life.
Hey Robin
I live in the US
A) I’m just getting into makeup..so far my favorite is a tie between YSL Volume…and L’Oreal Voluminous Original
B) I dont think celebrities should make perfume….However, I would love Rosario Dawson to come out with a fragrance made for her by CB I Hate Perfume…just because it wont be run of the mill
I live in the US and would be thrilled by either of these; thanks for the opportunity.
Maybelline’s Full’n’Soft is the best mascara I have *ever* used: it goes on easily; it looks natural and yet mysteriously enhances my lashes like nobody’s business; it stays on through almost everything (despite my using the non-waterproof version); it comes off easily at the end of the day, with just water; and it costs next to nothing. Can’t beat that!
Film: love Les Visiteurs, with Jean Reno in a comedy role.
I live in the US.
I’m going for all three categories:
1) fave mascara: Paula’s Choice Great Big Lashes
2) fave movies: Wings of Desire, Annie Hall, Bull Durham
3) Tina Fey
How do I get it:
Thanks, Robin! I live in the US. I’ll answer more than one:
1) No favorites, but someone should launch a product called Texas Chainsaw Mascara (borrowed from “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”).
2) SO many films, but I’ll pick the 1945 French film ‘Les Enfants du Paradis’ (Children of Paradise) by Marcel Carné. Don’t let the plot summary deter you.
3) I’ll steal someone’s Björk idea… and it should be done by Agonist.
I live in the US and you have permission to use my address.
And my favorite movie ever and you should see it too is “Close Encounters of The Third Kind” awesome movie!!!
I live in the U.S. Movies everyone should see: Lawrence of Arabia, for old-school Hollywood epic, and the Lord of the Rings movies, for new-school Hollywood epic.
I live in the U.S. and you can use my email address….
Everyone should see Bringing Up Baby with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant – hilarious. And no Christmas is complete without watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Trapped in Paradise – preferable back-to-back.
I live in the US and you have permission to use my address, my favorite movie is “Women at the verge of a nervous breakdown” by Pedro Almodovar.
I live in the US and have permission to use my email address. One of my favorite movies of all time is Gosford Park, with a close runner up being Clue.
I live in the US and my favorite movie is Saturday Night Fever and anyone who likes the 1970’s should see it as it really is a piece of seventies culture.
You have permission to use my email address.
Thanks Robin!
Thank you for this giveaway! I live in the US and you have permission to use my address.
A) I really like Maybelline’s new Lash Stiletto mascara that I bought on a whim because I love heels. I’m somewhat embarrassed to be suckered in by such blatant marketing ploys, but at least the mascara is very good. 🙂
B) My two favorite movies of the moment are Ponyo (adorable Japanese animated film about true love between a boy and his fish) and, on the other end of the scale, Lust, Caution (Ang Lee film about the Chinese resistance during their occupation by Japan in World War II). The first is just happy, fun, and uplifting, and the second is eerily haunting.
C) Alan Rickman, or Arnold Swarchenegger; mostly because I don’t think either would ever be inclined to do so. On a slight tangent, I do think it’d be fun if someone created a line of perfumes for famous fictional characters, like Lady Chatterley, Othello, or Arwen. Call me crazy, but I already play “match the character with a perfume” in my head, so it’s only the next logical step. 🙂
I live in the US and my favorite mascara is Kiehl’s Fabulous Mineral Mascara, even though it is pricey. You have permission to use my email address.
I think Keith Richards would probably smell like L’Air de Rien. I can see James Franco doing fragrace that smelled like gin, waxy stage makeup, rotting leaves, and B.O.
Hi Robin!
I live in the US and you may use my email.
A movie everyone should see is The Thin Man–William Powell and Mryna Loy drinking and detecting their way through NYC!
I live in the US.
My favorite movie is The Godfather II
You have permission to use my e-mail address.
Thanks!
Hi! I live in the US and you have permission to use the email address in my reader account. My favorite mascara is Rimmel’s Sexy Curves. I think Angelina Jolie should launch her own fragrance 🙂
Hello! I live in the US and my favorite mascara is Full and Soft by Maybelline!!!
I live in the US and I think everyone should see “A Hard Day’s Night.”
Hi Robin,
I live in the United States and you may use my email address.
One of my favorite movies is: Imitation of Life (Lana Turner version) – 1950s high melodrama. In fact I love all the Douglas Sirk films of that era.
(I’m making a list of everyone else’s favs – there are some I’ve never seen – thanks all.)
Whoopie Goldberg should launch a scent – now wouldn’t that be fun.
Hi, I live in the US, and I am a big fan of Blade Runner. It is awesome because it artfully discusses what it is to be human, and was based of the work of author Philip K. Dick. It is a movie to be appreciated on a completely different olfactory level as well. It is too easy to imagine good and bad smells-smog and exhaust, unwashed humanity, Dekard’s street-shop noodles, the plastic raincoat, whether or not replicants smell like us. Not everyone I’ve introduced it to likes it, but it does spur some great conversation.
Oh Robin, please pick me!! you have my permission to use my email and I do live in the USA!
This time of year my favorite movie is “White Christmas” In my family we decorate the tree while watching it–we hang the ornaments during the dialogue scenes, then take a break to sing along with the musical numbers…..great fun tradition
Hi, I live in the US, would like to enter and please use my email address.
My favorite mascara is Defencils by Lancome.
Favorite movie is Oh Brother Where Art Thou (but I would not necessarily recommend it to anyone, I think you have to have a Southern connection to enjoy it).
I would love to see two celebrities launch a perfume — Kate Bush and an opera diva Anna Netrebko.
I live in the U.S.
Favorite movie: Has to be the first Thin Man movie. Never get tired of watching it.
I, too, would like to see what RDJr. would come up with in a scent.
You have permission to use my email address in the user account.
I live in the US, would like to enter and please use my email address.
A movie that I think is wonderful and undervalued is Jackie Brown.
oh, I’d love this! And I do live in the U.S.
A movie that everyone should see is Wings of Desire, by Wim Wenders.
Thanks for hosting the drawings, Robin! I live in the U.S. and of course you can use my email if I win.
I’m with the folks who like Cover Girl Lash Blast. Inexpensive, yet effective. . .and I don’t feel terrible about throwing it out regularly for safety as medically recommended. I’ve tried all the Diors, the Lancomes, the Estee Lauders, the Merciers and still love the purple Cover Girl the best.
As for movie to see. . .I’ve loved people’s lists, and now have to go back to revisit old favorites. My recommendation is Shakespeare in Love. I watch it at least yearly. Action, romance, the Bard’s poetry, and a bit with a dog.
Celeb fragrance? A truly bespoke fragrance, as opposed to commercial fragrance, for someone artistic/iconic/unusual like John Malkovich or Bjork or Anjelica Huston *would* be fun to experience. I fear I disdain celebrity fragrances as I see them as made to sell, not made to be expressions of the artist/individual, if that makes any sense. In any case, all the best to the NST community. Be well.
Hi, I live in the US and would love to win!! Sure you can use my email address.
Everyone should see Wuthering Heights with Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier. Fav mascara: Maybelline Full & Soft.
Thanks for hosting the contest!
I live in the US. Recently I’m loving the movie A Single Man (by Tom Ford) and found it very touching. Ya’ll should watch it.
I live in the US, you may use my email address and my favorite mascara is from Just for Redheads. My favorite movie is Key Largo.
I live in the US and you may use my email.
My favorite mascara is Maybelline Great Lash.
My favorite movie: To Kill a Mockingbird.
Hello and thank you for this opportunity to win a Tauer fragrance. I live in the USA and you have permission to use my email address to contact me. My favorite movie that everyone should see is ‘Avalon.’ The celebrity that should lauch a fragrance, I think, is Angelina Jolie.
I live in the US and you may use my email.
My favorite mascara is Film Noir ONYX.
A favorite movie: Songcatcher
Hello,
I have been reading this friendly blog for a long time, but this is my first comment.
1) Favorite mascara – MAC Pro Lash.
2) Casablanca is one of my favorite old movies.
I live in the US and you have permission to use my e-mail address.
I live in the US and you may use my e-mail.
Thank you, Robin.
My current favorite mascara is: Armani Eyes To Kill
A movie I think everyone should see is: A Single Man— a beautiful haunting soundtrack, too!
Celebrity who should launch a new fragrance is: Johnny Depp…(swoon … nobody looks better in eyeliner. 😉 )
I live in the US.
Goodness favorite movie is such a hard question but, while I can’t watch it 24/7, I would have to choose Atonement. While tragic, in my opinion, it really is one of the most beautifully shot films ever made. It hits me every time I watch it. It’s the one film I truly wish I was a part of. Oh well.
Tauer Cologne du Maghreb sounds absolutely stunning. The notes! Good luck everyone! : )
I live in the USA and you may use my email address. Fav mascara changes monthly. I like to try new ones as often as I do perfumes. Same with movies. If I couldn’t try new ones frequently there would be no point to life! I can always go back to old favorites or re try failures.
I live in the USA and you may use my email address.
I would wear a Sam Elliot scent, blind. The most masculine scent in the world… I think it would probably smell like Lonestar Memories.
I live in the US and you have my permission to contact me via email if I get lucky! Currently my favorite mascara is by Korres, and I’ve been on a colored mascara kick – deep green, plum or navy. I have too many favorite movies, but some I’d recommend, in no particular order are: All About Eve, Annie Hall, Some Like It Hot, West Side Story & The Matrix. Currently, I’m dying to see Black Swan.
I live in the US and you have my permission to use my email address. I’m another one who loves L’Oreal Voluminous. One of my favorite movies is Chocolat, and actually wouldn’t mind seeing what Johnny Depp might do with fragrance.
I do indeed live in the US.
The best mascara I’ve ever tried is Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara. It puts all others to shame, including ALL of the Diors, Lancomes and YSLs. I’ve yet to try the Ultraflesh Panthera, though, and I must do that, even if just for the super awesome packaging.
And for the movie, I have to say that John Waters’ Pink Flamingos is a must-see (as long as you have a sense of humor, and don’t mind a little gross-out gag once in awhile). On the more serious side, Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Tokyo Sonata is really lovely. He’s my all time favorite director.
I live in the US and you have my permission to email me 🙂 if I am so lucky! a. I am very fond of Clinique Naturally Glossy mascara for an everyday low impact (pretty and natural looking-your lashes but better mascara)- For high impact I have a YSL (not sure but it is a black tube with a gold cap) and it paints a gorgoeus high impact lash. b. One of my favorite movies- that a bunch of folks probably haven’t seen is Unstrung Heroes (with Andie Macdowell and John Turturro- directed by Diane Keaton- WARNING: tearjerker- great movie for a winter afternoon with some cocoa and popcorn and blankets) c. now that the Harry Potter movies are done filming (right?)- maybe Emma Watson will grace us with a celeb perfume 🙂
I live in the U.S. and love Lancome’s Defincils mascara, with Chanel’s Inimmitable running a close second (it’s hard to get brown in that line, and black mascara is a bit harsh with my coloring. And this holiday season everyone should see George C Scott’s version of “A Christmas Carol”!
Thanks for the opportunity, Robin. I live in the US & you can use my email on file. Favorite mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous. Movies are so subjective, but Harold & Maude always makes me smile.
I live in the US.
My favorite movie is Mulholland Drive. A great movie for a scent to be based on. The other would be the recent I Am Love w/Tilda Swinton.
You have permission to use my e-mail address.
Thanks!
live in the U.S.! you have my permission to use my account
a) Favorite mascara –Tart
b) Favorite movie – five heartbeats
c) Celebrity perfume – Bradly cooper
Thanks, Robin and Andy!
I live in the US.
I don’t wear mascara, I’m not a big movie goer, but I definitely would love it if Willem Dafoe came out with a celebrity fragrance. He is so odd looking, I can’t imagine what his fragrance would smell like!
I live in the US. And I don’t wear mascara (my lashes are long enough so I just curl them). 🙂
I live in the US and you have my permission to use my email address.
My favorite mascara is Chanel’s Inimitable; my favorite movie is “Cinema Paradso”; and I think celebrities should give up the perfume business.
a) Cover Girl Line Exact Medium Brown. I am eyebrowless due to a sad spate of overplucking, so I use it to paint on my brows every day, geisha-style. The ultrafine point allows for very precise browlines.
b) THE FOUNTAIN by Darren Aronofsky.
c) Viggo Mortensen. Apparently, his personal hygiene (or lack thereof) is a matter of much comment, so any fragrance of his would be Kouros + Yatagan + Muscs Koublai Khan x 1000.
You have my permission to use my account email if I win, and thank you again for the opportunity!
And I live in the US, sorry.
I live in the U.S.
My favorite mascara is Maybelline Full N’Soft.
My favorite movie is Truly, Madly, Deeply.
I do not like celebrity fragrances and have no desires to see another one.
(I love Now Smell This.)
I live in the USA and you may use my email address.
Hm. Those are all tough for me. No wait– everyone should see 2046. It’s so good– great story, really beautiful score, perfect cinematography.
I am dying to try this Tauer, so I hope I win!! I’d share it with my husband!
I live in the USA and you may use my email address.
Favorite mascara for the last 15 yrs. is Lancome Definicils.
Movie suggestion – Y Tu Mama Tambien

Hi Robin,
I live in the US and you may use my email address.
I think everyone should see _Baraka_!
Happy Holidays,
Sean
I live in the USA and you have my permission to use my email address. Thank you in advance.
I live in the US, and the movie that I think everyone should see is “Shine”.
I live in the U.S. I’m on my second tube of L’Oreal Voluminous Naturalle mascara.
Hi Robin!
I live in the U.S. and you have permission to use my email address. I think it is about time that Christopher Walken released a perfume. The world needs more randomness!
I live in the U.S., and you have permission to use the email address in my user account. A movie that I think people should see is Ikiru, by the great Japanese director Akira Kurosawa. This film is about a middle-aged bureaucrat who learns he is dying of stomach cancer, and his subsequent search for meaning in his life. It is downbeat, but very haunting.
I live in the US. Rocker Nick Cave.
I live in the US.
You have permission to use my email
My favorite mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous,
The movie everyone should see is Roman Holiday.
The celebrity I want to launch a perfume is Amy Winehouse.
I live in the US. Natalie Portman.
I live in the US. Lancome Hypnose. I think that’s how it’s spelled. Movie: Michael Clayton. No one appreciates it. But, it’s great. And a perfume designed by… (a young) Omar Sharif. Or the novelist Michael Ondaatje. Or by a young Neruda.
I live in the US, you have my permission to use the email address, and I use Eyes to Kill mascara by Giorgio Armani. Most perfect mascara I have ever used.
yes i live in the us, you have the permission to use my email address, i think the lord of the rings is my all time favorite film, i think lady gaga should make a fragrance
I live in the US and you can contact me using my email address if I win a bottle of either fragrance (got my fingers crossed for the Tauer!) I’m strictly a drugstore mascara girl. A celebrity who should release a fragrance???? Hmmm… Morrissey springs to mind, but it would have to smell of bottled angst. Has Sophia Loren ever released a perfume? She used to have a line of eyeglass frames. I’d be interested in one from her. Favorite film: Almodovar’s “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown”. I’m a big fan of Almodovar, Akira Kurosawa, and also film noir.
I do live in the United States and you have permission to publish my email address. I would love for Stephen Fry to do a perfume–it would be smart and witty.
I live in the US. You have permission to use my email address if I win.
And everyone should see “Aguirre: Der Zorn Gottes” (aguirre: the wrath of god) by Werner Herzog, starring Klaus Kinski. Those two are a duo for the ages. I shudder to think what a Kinski perfume would smell like… possibly rather like ‘secretions magnifiques.’
I live in US 🙂 and you certainly my permission to use my e-mail if i win!
a) favorite mascara- discontinued Lash Stylist by Maybelline
b) favorite movie- if you love the Beatles, please see Across the Universe!!!
c) on that note, I would love to know what the perfume inspired by the Beatles would smell like …. hmm
I would love to see Helena Bonham Carter come out with a perfume!
And I live in the US, and thanks for the giveaway!
I live in the US. Please feel free to use my email address if I win.
I watched the Graduate for the first time last year, and I still find myself thinking about scenes from the movie fairly often. So many modern coming-of-age movies (Garden State comes to mind first) were inspired by it. And I would probably wear, or at least sample, a perfume by Cate Blanchett, Claire Danes or Natalie Portman.
Ooh, please enter me I want to try this!
I live in the U.s. and you have my permission to contact me using the e-mail address on file if I win.
Movie: If you like a subtle ghost story instead of the slashy gore we usually get these days, look for the Canadian film “The Haunting of M.”
Celeb scent: Cate Blanchett! It would just have to be gorgeous and classy.
I live in the US.
Celeb who needs to release a fragrance? Well, that’s easy. Madonna.
My eyes do not hang on to make-up. I’ve tried every mascara out there, and they all end up accentuating the bags under my eyes instead of my lovely lashes. So when the Dior makeover lady swore up and down that Dior Iconic would stick with me, I was skeptical, especially at that price. But by gum, that stuff stays on all day long, and I almost have to use a sandblaster to get it off. I lurve it.
I live in the US and you have my permission to use my email address to contact me if I win.
I live in the US. Please use my e- mail address.
I love Diorshow Blackout.
There are lots of great movies, many mentioned above.
I would add Citizen Kane, Pride and Prejudice with L. Olivier.
Thank you.
Hello Robin, I live in the US and I am feeling lucky today. I also think everyone should see Night of the Hunter, I am shocked to not see it listed so far.
For a must watch I would love to recommend “Twilight Samurai” It is a 2002 Japanese film that is poignant and heart warming. I have a hankering for any fragrance from Johnny Depp. Something quirky and sexy. I live in the US you have my permission to use my email account.
I live in the U.S.
For this time of year everyone should watch “A Christmas Story”. (You’ll shoot your eye out!)
Great suggestions for celeb fragrances (Christopher Walken, Johnny Depp), but the company to make it should be Nasomatto.
I live live in the US.
a) favorite mascara – I like the ‘tube’ formulas that coat lashes with tiny tubes. Loreal makes a version that’s good as does Blink. The Too Faced brand flakes (bad). I have deep set eyes and mascara seems to melt off – the tubes formala stays put and washes away with warm water. Good Stuff!
b) the name of a favorite movie, new or old, that you think everyone should see: A Knight’s Tale and Ever After top my list.
c) the celebrity that you think ought to launch a perfume – I think Angelina Jolie would come up with an interesting scent, but alas, it would prob turn out as some skanky fruit (peaches) bomb.
I live in the US, and you have permission to use my email address.
A film everyone should see is Yi Yi.
I live in the US, and you have my permission to use the email address in my profile.
One of my favorite movies: Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown, by Pedro Almodovar – a funny, colorful movie.
My name is Bakr
I live in the US.
You have permission to use my e-mail address.
You should get Inception on DVD.
I live in the US.
And one of my favorite movies is True Stories. I think it would make a great holiday movie, it’s a story about people coming together, and the cinematography brings a much needed jolt of color this time of year.
For mascara, I like the little samples of Chanel, Clinique, and Lancome, but I honestly liked the Max Factor sample just as much. Cover Girl’s Exact Eyelights is pretty darn good, and lately I’ve been using a L’Oreal that comes with come knd of eyelash growing goop. It leaves my lashes silky, which is nice.
And I think Yoko Ono would release some very interesting perfume.
Hello Robin,
I live in the U.S. and you may use my email address should I have the good fortune of winning.
Amadeus (1984) is probably my favorite film of all time.
I live in the U.S. and you have my permission to use my email address. I love “Little Miss Sunshine” and that is one fairly recent movie that I always recommend. it cracks me up and makes me cry at the same time.
I live in the US and I am currently switching back and forth between Bare Escentuals’ Buxom (surprisingly good) and Josie Maran’s mascara (not as good but nice.)
OOOO, Maghreb!
Also I am fairly twisted because the movie that sprang to mind was “Death to Smoochy”. I’m sure I should say “Laurence of Arabia” or something like that.
I live in the US, please enter me in the contest.
I would give more consideration to a perfume by Cate Blanchett or Natalie Portman. They’re too classy to ever think about endorsing one, though.
My favorite movie of the moment is Forbidden Planet (ahh young Leslie Nielsen). And while most celebrities leave me cold, if I had the use of a time machine I’d use it to convince Jean Harlow or Dana Andrews to help develop something.
I live in the US. , and you have permission to use my email address.
I live in the US. , and you have permission to use my email address, of course – anything to get that Tauer!
Everyone is doing movies, so I’ll give you my favorite mascara: Cover Girl Professional, the one with the curved brush, and not the waterproof formula. It’s great and cheap, too!
I live in the US and you can use my email address. At the moment one of my favorite movies is Big Fish but it changes regularly. 🙂
I live in the bad ‘ole U.S. of A.
Both me and my spouse think this sounds interesting and would love to give it a try.
A movie everyone should see is “A Chinese Ghost Story” (the 1987 version starring Leslie Cheung and produced by Tsui Hark). It has action, comedy, romance and tragedy all in one!
Of course you can use my email to contact me -whadddya think?
Yes, I live in the United States.
A movie everyone should see at least once, and really, why not once every couple of years is Gone with the Wind.
I live in the US and you can use my email address.
One of the few movie series I can watch over and over is the Bourne Conspiracy . Riveting….
I started reading beauty blogs ( my bad ) and had to try Armani Eyes to Kill mascara . It really is great , and looks like I am an eyelash queen . Easy to remove , never clumps , comes off easily .
There have been alot of votes for Maybelline Full and Soft ! I might have to try that….Mally Beauty also has a very good one .
Thanks for the draw !
I live in the U.S. and you can use my email on file if I win. I always pull out Love Actually around this time of year, feel holiday good movie. As for mascara have been wearing Loreal Double Extend with lash boosting wears great and lashes look fantastic.
I live in the US, but I am traveling outside of it at the moment!
favorite movie: The Illusionist (2006)
I live in the US. I’d love to see more Etat Libre D’Orange celebrity-inspired perfumes like Tilda Swinton Like This. Perhaps John Malkovitch next?
You have permission to use my e-mail address and I live in the United States.
I will have to choose Notorious, with Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant as a film everyone must watch.
You have permission to use my e-mail address and I live in the United States.

1. wear EL or Clinique / Lancome Mascara.
2. Avitar
3. Lil Wayne
I live in the US and you always have permission to use my email. The movie I think everyone should see is p.s. I Love You. It’s not really all that good of a movie, but I started crying 15 minutes in and kept on until the end. It’s good for anyone who really needs to get a cry out. Bonus – there are some stunning shots of the Irish countryside.
I live in the US and you have permission to use my email address. My favorite mascara is an old standby, Maybelline Great Lash in Very Black. I’ve tried some of the pricier ones and still always come back to this one!
I live in the US, you have permission to use my email address, and I will hawk CoverGirl LastBlast Volume (the orange one) until they stop making it. It’s awesome- volumizing, doesn’t smear, and easy to remove. Get some!
Regrettably, Lindsay Lohan has already dropped another insipid celebrity fragrance bomb that will no doubt take its place on the shelf next to Stetson. God only knows what its basenotes might be – something along the lines of cigarette butt absolue. So, since she’s already laid her fragrance egg, I moved onward into the shallow gene pool of celebritydom. Then it hit me; what about Lindsay’s on-again off-again partner Samantha Ronson? Obviosly it would be a unisex frag, so there are many nifty names for the juice – like “Spin” (she’s a DJ who spins records – lame, I know), or “Slim”. Yes, she’s a bit on the thin side and has the teensiest bit in common with Lauren Bacall, the original Slim (they both are into pants). “Grrrrr”…..could be cute. Sam’s an animal lover, one whose own dog recently attacked and killed her neighbor’s dog; but perhaps the best, most succinct and factually-accurate moniker would be “Butch”. The ad copy could say something like “Whether you’re a man or a woman, if you’re Butch – you know it. Why not let others in on it?
In answer to the mascara question, I’m still stumbling through life with black eyes and an empty pocketbook (and no, I’m not a meth-addicted prostitute). I may just be cursed in this area of feminine pulchritude.
And yes, you have my permission to publish this, use my email or whatever.
Whaddya think? Anyone?
I live in the US, and you have permission to use my email address. I think Lisa Marie Presley should launch a perfume.
I live in the US and you have permission to use my e-mail address. I use smashbox Lash DNA w/ a lot of help from Latisse.
My favorite movie of all time is The Great Gatsby. I loved the style. I think Angelina Jolie should launch a fragance. She can look so classy at times.
I live in the US and you have permission to use my email!
1) Everyday Mascara – DiorShow, nice volume. For long flights where you want to look decent after a nap – L’oreal lash tubes. That stuff just does not come off or clump until you wash it away.
2) Movie? Bell, Book and Candle is my favorite for this time of the year. NYC, snow, some magic…
3) Celebrity perfume I want to smell: Kid Rock
I live in the US and you have permission to use my email!Mascara=Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Lash Mascara
Movie=Breakfast at Tifanny’s

Movie – Elf (for the holidays!)
I’m a sucker for costume dramas esp. A Room with a View

Crosses fingers and hope to win!
I live in the US and a.) my fav mascara will forever be Dior Iconic.
I live in the US! And I think it’s a shame more people haven’t seen Titus, the 1999 adaptation of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus starring Anthony Hopkins. Absolutely amazing cast, cinematography, direction, easily the best Shakespeare movie adaptation EVER in my book.
I live in the U.S.
a) Estee Lauder: More than mascara
b) 12 Angree Men
c) no more celebrity perfumes. Pleeease…
I live in the U.S.
I think everyone should see The Great Ziegfeld. A beautifully made film (even if it is in black and white) and a glimpse into the life of the great entertainers of the 1920’s. I’m all about the 20’s and 30’s; Boardwalk Empire is one of my favorite shows at the moment.
