Interesting! I think I’d like to smell Reindeer games and Sexy Turtleneck. By the way, what does templin smell like? I should probably do some research.

I have no idea what templin is.

Hrm. Wikipediang “templin” gets references to towns, French soccer players, dorms in Kansas and highways.

        Makes for fun speculation, though.

LOL – between the dorms and the soccer…….maybe a lttle sweaty? Ick – hope not. Not sure about the highway……breezy tar? Thanks for the research Kate – I hadn’t had a chance to look yet.

I asked Smell Bent, and here’s the answer: “Templin oil comes from the cone of fir trees. It’s latin name is Abies alba.”

Well that is cool! Thanks. Piney, nice. I ordered the sample pack and am really looking forward to it.

LOL! Eau de World Cup! The smell of a soccer player stewing in the sun and soccer fans stewing in thier dorms!

Thanks for finding us a real answer, Aparatchick! Hm…wonder why it’s called templin if it’s fir? Calling it fir would be a bonus for me. Bring on the paper and sawdust and sticky resin!

I’ve only smelled a few of the Smell Bent line….none have come close to inspiring a purchase….but the names almost make it worth it.
    Elf-fulfilling Prophecy…LOL !

The halloween smellies were great fun and I liked the price point for the sampler set, and found one or two that I liked. I also found that this line has tremendous staying power and sillage. Tremendous! It’s great if you like the scent…

Customer service is really good – one vial was broken when it arrived (chocolate patchoulli mail) and they sent me a new set, which was awesome! The mail never smelled so good…

Yes, I have to agree with you on that, and on the absolutley astounding turnaround on questions e-mailed in. I (for whatever reason) never expect to actually get an answer to those.

These all sound great, I love wood and paper smells (I’ve got One in both oil and spray form) and I can’t wait to order samples.

What did you try of the Halloween smellies? Several of them were way too sweet on me, the only one I kept for myself was Lumberjack Werewolf, and I have to apply that at the very base of my current mix or I smell faintly of dead moss and toddler pee all day.

I liked One best of all. Bewitched was nice too – it reminded me of this “Friendship Tea” my mom used to make for us after coming in from snow sledding, essentially unsweetened lipton iced tea powder mix mixed with Tang plus spices like cinnamin, nutmeg & a maybe a little clove or allspice – served hot, of course!

I could not wear the Werewolf – too much skank for me 🙂

I remember that improbably delicious Tang/tea mix. If you can recall the proper proportions of the ingredients, let us know– it was a great little pick-me-up on a cold day.

Oh my gosh, I hadn’t thought about that in years. My mother always called it “Russian tea” although I don’t think there’s anything Russian about it.

I found this at Cooks.com and it’s exactly as mom used to make it:

            1 c. instant tea
            14 oz. Tang
            1 tsp. ground cloves
            2 tbsp. cinnamon
1 pkg. lemon flavored Kool Aid

Mix all dry ingredients well. You may add 1 cup of sugar to the mix or let each sweeten their own. Use 2 tbsp. of mixture for 1 cup of hot water.

Coudn’t have. I actually attract the stray kittys outside my building when I wear it, and I hadn’t noticed any of the moodily moping deer in the parking lot here at work dashing away of a morning. But yeah…the wolf definately starts off a litte whiffy…I could never carry it off by itself.

As for the tea, we used to have it at (shhh…don’t tell anyone…) Girl Scout meetings. They had some…er…Girl Scoutized name for it, but I can’t remember what it was. Used to be everyone favorite job when we went winter camping, getting to be the tea girl! However, when I Bewitched it on, I smelled…well, like of like burning Splenda.

Most of these sound interesting. I ordered some samples from them recently and they arrived quickly and with several extras. Certainly not classics, but fun cheap thrills. Their Blimey Limey is the longest lasting lime I’ve found. And the name is hilarious!

The holidays certainly put me on the Bi-Polar Express! lol Maybe I need some of that.

Such cute names they come up with. Always good for a giggle.

I think this is an adorable line, and very well done, but the name Bipolar Express makes me grumble. I may be the only one who thinks so, and that’s ok, but using a mental illness as a joke isn’t very funny. I know it’s something a lot of people joke about without really thinking, and I don’t believe they meant any disrespect by using it in this context. I just had to say something or it would have bothered me all day.

You’ve got a point, Miss Kitty. But it did make me laugh and I’m definitely interested in it – although *three* kinds of camomile might be a bit much. lol (And very thankful there’s no lavender, which always seems to ruin “calming” fragrances for me.) If there is any time of the year I get very bi-polar, it’s the winter holidays.

I like this line – some of them are unwearable, but the ones that work can really work. I loved Felix Navidad from last year, and except for the freaking butter in the Turtleneck most of these sound worth a try.

They do send random extra stuff – I got a little Tibet Your Bottom $ that I don’t think I ordered in my last batch and I love it.

Last year, my boyfriend bought me Elf-fulfilling prophecy, I think it’s the only one that they re-launched from last year’s line.

It was not as nice as it sounds, unfortunately. It just smells like a simple spiced candle from Hallmark.

But hey.. if you’re into that sort of thing! 🙂

    This line is never dull!

Reindeer Games is calling out to me, but I also have no idea what a “templin” is, so I’ve emailed them to ask. If I hear, I’ll post back.

I’ve started to approach it like a riddle. I thought maybe”templin” or “temple” was a type of fir tree, but it is not. So that’s out. My only other guess at this point was “temple incense,” but that may be stretching it. So yes, let us know what you find out. 😉

Tons of fun, very affordable, and as others have pointed out, superb communication and lightning fast shipping. Werewolf got me……um, a friend shall we say? I also received a couple of extras in my samples order and found them all very pleasing, so am looking to try the more masculine or unisexy of the new batch….
