either immortelle is the note of the moment or I just seem to be finding it a lot lately. A little immortelle is okay….too much is nauseating….Estaban is a nice line , I think they tend to be more masculine than my usual preference, I’d like to smell this but that immortelle will have me approaching it very cautiously!

Immortelle is not my favorite either.

Hooray for red pepper! I don’t have any idea what most of the rest of the notes are though. Is immortelle a flower?

immortelle is a flower….often yellow or purple. Their scent reminds me of maple syrup.

Weird. I can see how you could get sick from too much of it.

I can’t imagine any improvement on Ormonde Jayne’s delectable heavenly interpretation of Tolu…also wtih Tonka bean that was one of their first perfumes. Hmmm ….just wondering if someone is sincerely flattering someone else perhaps?

I agree, OJ Tolu is a pretty tough act to follow. I’m curious to compare.

But in all fairness, OJ was hardly the first to use Tolu balsam in perfume…

I would really love to get more info on that note, Tolu. Can you tell me a couple of other names of scents I could try to compare and nail it down, so to speak? I just saw the comments below. Sables and An exotic flower. Would that be it?

Tolu balsam can also be found in Estee Lauder Youth Dew and Jean Desprez Bal a Versailles.

Cant remember for sure but I think it was one of the highlighted notes in LLempicka’s L. An exotic flower?

It’s also known as everlasting. When cut and dries, the flowers are said to maintain their color and shape for a very long time. Annick Goutal Sables has a pronounced immortelle note. As has been mentioned here already, it smells something like maple syrup. That’s OK, I like maple syrup.

It’s one of the flowers you can dry and keep indefinitely — not sure what it actually smells like, though!

Lolita Lempicka Fleur de Corail has imortelle in it, and it does smell syrupy to me, like Daisy’s description.

Bottle reminds me of YSL’s Opium.

I like Esteban parfumes, they are complex, well crafted and last considerably on skin. Their patchouli scent is awesome, so is their cuir too. Hope that this one follow the line of their previous launches.
