I have smelled some but not all, and want to try the Colors collection — have you tried any of those?

*awe* What a glorious mangle. The wild softness of the wonderfully polished leather beneath my velvety skin craves the impromptu vibrancy of the mischievous umbellates. Come to me, o subtly powdery dewdrops.

I'm thinking they're limbering up for the Prix Eaux Faux.

Every time I read something like “launches 6 new fragrances” I wither a bit on the inside. Didn't we collectively wish that there won't be 50 new fruity floral flankers for 2008? What is vibrant umbrellates?! There's no need to make up entries for PdEF when there already exist copies like this. Pineapple guava vanilla sounds like a great empanada filling I once had at a Publix in West Palm, but they need some fried oil accord in there to really sell.

I just also want to tack on here the I loved your review of Bel Respiro, and as a newly minted BR owner, I *so* love this stuff. 🙂

And they've a good chance of winning! Hope they'll add the notes to the website later, these sound like they could be good.

I know what you mean. Not sure why not release 2 every 6 months or so, but perhaps there are reasons upon reasons.

Oh, lucky you if you've a new bottle of Bel Respiro! I'm quite jealous.

Hey, my second passion after perfumes is words – which is way I lke this blog sooo much! FYI an umbellate is

“an umbrella-shaped flower head in which the individual flowers are borne on short stems arising from the top of a main stem. It is typical of plants such as parsley, carrot, dill, and fennel.”

But it's not as sexy to say it'll make you smell like parsley. Lol. I love words to, so this just makes my night.

Ida, thank you for being the only one who bothered to investigate, LOL! I still say it is a silly sentence, but at least it makes sense.

I'm a botany geek, so I got the umbellates reference, although I think it was egregious in a perfume context–most of them don't smell like anything, some smell faintly of licorice, and of course fennel has its' own fragrance. But still

I just want to know how they get that powder hidden under the dewdrops.

Ok, so I majored in botany, and there is a plant family called Umbelliferae (new family name Apiaceae). This family includes carrots, dill, Queen Anne's Lace, fennel, wild hemlock, etc etc. The flowers have a particular structure that is referred to as Umbels (google this if you're that interested) So maybe the description is referring to the fresh, herbal, green scents of this family?

I love these descriptions–they sound so bosom-heaving, like something the literary character “Anne of Green Gables” would've written, “Oh, but a drizzling softness of rapturously incandescent maple syrup with just a pixie dash of impetuous, perpetuous, glorious sea-salt–of the sort that dries from the hands of sea nymphs as they run their fingertips through their glossy, nut-brown, sea-kelp hair!”

Anne of Green Gables! My favorite, and I think this is her first mention on NST so I'm tickled about it.

And PERFECT imitation of the character, by the way!

Especially love that “of the sort” in the middle of the bosom-heaving!

Adore Anne-with-and-e, and was just quoting her to a friend the other day in reference to her disappointment with violets — it reminded me of how Anne was disappointed in diamonds, because she wanted them to be royal purple.

LOL — and I'm firmly with Anne on the subject of diamonds. Never understood the appeal of “clear”.
