Perry Ellis Night ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 22 October 2010 10 Comments

Perry Ellis Night fragrance

Perry Ellis has launched Perry Ellis Night, a new fragrance for men:

Distinct and refined, the new PERRY ELLIS NIGHT unites invigorating energy with long lasting sensuality. Fresh citrus top notes create a vibrant introduction with Blood Orange, Pomelo and Citron Leaves. The confident style continues into the heart of the fragrance, revealing a dynamic fusion of Yuzu, Geranium and Cedar. The background of the scent boasts an irresistible blend of Amberwood and Tree Moss enveloped in sensual Black Musk.

Perry Ellis Night is available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette, and can be found now at Macy's, $60. (via macys)

This actually sounds interesting, if not terribly complex (although who cares if it smells nice), for a mainstream launch. Gone are the violet leaves, metallic, marine or ozone references, thank heavens.

The others they’ve done recently have been nice enough, although none of them were terribly interesting.

Thank goodness. Not a fan of marine scents either as to me they all smell like mouthwash and cold medicine mixed together.

The most striking thing to me is the simple ad copy – no outrageous claims and embarrassing hyperbole!

The first couple of lines sound like the claims of “male enhancer’ spam.

I guess if you missed the mark the first two times, you try again a third time…def want to try this as the original and platinum are nothing to write home about. I really like the original’s bottle; the platinum;s bottle was cheap and terrible looking. Hope they fixed that this time around. I do also think ‘Night’ is a cheap way to go. I woul dhave gone with Noir or Nuit.

There is also something on the shape that is similar to The One Man By Dolce & Gabbana. I think that, if they are almost always producing average scents, they should produce more unique bottles.
