Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2010, part 17

Posted by Robin on 12 October 2010 50 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Tom Ford Black Orchid Limited Edition Collection

From Tom Ford, the Black Orchid Limited Edition Collection, with a Black Orchid lipstick, Black Orchid nail polish and Black Orchid solid perfume. Available this month at Saks and Neiman Marcus in the US, Harvey Nichols in the UK. £90. (via ftape)

Couture Couture limited edition in black

From Juicy Couture, their Couture Couture fragrance in opaque black: "A delicious perfume in a limited edition black flaçon, luxuriously wrapped with gold satin ribbon and tied with Juicy J and locket charms all under a shining, golden cap." $87 for 100 ml at Macy's, with thanks to jonr951 for the link!

Agent Provocateur Edition Porcelaine

Agent Provocateur celebrates the 10th anniversary of their signature fragrance with the Agent Provocateur Edition Porcelaine. 50 ml Eau de Parfum, £46 at Harvey Nichols in the UK.

Solid perfume ring, Mugler Womanity

From Thierry Mugler, a solid perfume ring in the Womanity fragrance. (via bellemania.de)

Giorgio Beverly Hills, gold editionUngaro Diva 10 ans

From Giorgio Beverly Hills, a limited edition gold bottle of Giorgio (above left) to celebrate the fragrance's 30th anniversary. In 50 ml Eau de Toilette, $52 at Elizabeth Arden.

And from Ungaro, a white and silver 100 ml bottle of Diva (above right) to celebrate the fragrance's 10th anniversary for the 2010 holidays, due to launch this month. (via cosmetiquemag.fr)

I love opaque black glass…wish we’d see more like this! (Not my favorite scent either though)

I LOVE COUTURE COUTURE! THE BEST of the Bunch i think! it smells so… COUTURE! I think it’s Marvellously well done and very sophisticated for a brand as cheeky and brassy as Juicy… just my two cents.

I’ll actually admit to liking Couture Couture and that bottle sounds adorable!

Wow… I thought Diva was older than just ten years… I could swear I wore it more than ten years ago. In any case, I still love it and always thought it was such a classy and confident perfume that puts a lot of those fleeting fruity florals to shame. I even keep my bottle with all my “heavy hitters” in my collection since it definitely has the right to be there. ;)

I didn’t even know Diva was still in production! Has anyone smelled it recently? It can’t possibly be the same as it was back then, a MASSIVE floral chypre with a heavy emphasis on the chypre, utterly gorgeous, pure drama. Have they managed to keep the basic structure the same, or have they deleted the oakmoss, upped the patchouli, probably doused the top with fresh fruity notes to turn it into a “modern chypre”?

I bought a mini bottle within the last couple of years – but not retail. It smells GREAT. Mossy-earthy-rose-andthekitchensink.

However, like I say, it could have been vintage and simply not labeled as such.

Thats Juicy bottle is so wonderfully trashy, like all their bottles. Why can’t they make fragrances that don’t make me gag?

Some perfume that I actually like needs to come in a black bottle. I don’t think I have a single black fragrance bottle.

I seem to have an over abundance of black: Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Bulgari Black, TF Black Orchid, and a Serge L with a black cap (forget the juice). I prefer heavier oriental scents and so the bottles lean darker. Let’s just say I don’t have a single pastel or flower motif in sight :D

Black is actually the best color for protecting the perfume from light. Actually, any dark color (dark blue, purple, brown, dark green) works well. Besides, black looks cool. I have CdG Avignon and Zen (original formula) which are both in black bottles.

I have the Fracas extrait in a black bottle that’s just gorgeous, and a bottle of Kyoto. But I’ve been lusting after the latest Lolita Lempicka flanker and keep sampling TF’s Black Orchid in the hope that I can get it to work. I love gourmands so there’s no reason I can’t get past it (I can wear Angel with ease), but it’s tricky and so far just hasn’t settled into something I can pull off. Too bad as I love the idea and packaging. :(

I think black orchid is an existing shade in the private blend lipstick collection, it’s the darkest shade. they’ve just put it in packaging like the black orchid bottle.
theres the shade if the link works. :)

it’s vritually the same shade as the Nail Polish, Only more Darkly Plum, Not so much red as the polish in the bottle looks, but once you apply two coats of the polish it more exactly replicates the lip colour!

I think it’s a gorgeous color that I nevertheless could NOT wear.

Luckily for me it’s Blk Orch (which I don’t like) and not the Voile de Fleur (which I love), otherwise I’d be very tempted.

I want that Tom Ford lipstick. Is the makeup collection out in the US yet? I seriously doubt it will be superior to any other department store brand, but I’m a sucker for new makeup launches.

That’s good enough for me! I need something to console myself with. I’m still heartbroken over missing out on MAC’s Disney Evil Queen collection. :( How will I go through life knowing that I could have had Maleficent lipstick, and now have to go without?

This is the first I ever heard of Maleficent lipstick, but I share your pain. Seriously, if I could wear those vamp-y dark colors, I’d be strongly tempted to buy the Tom Ford Black Orchid set– though maybe I’d be smart to try the scent first to see if I even like it.

Hmm, are you sure? I walked past our MAC last week (not much of a makeup person anymore, so didn’t go in), and all the signs were still up (my daughter pointed them out). I’ll be in the immediate neighborhood tomorrow and could duck in quickly to check…

They have the displays up, but they’re out of everything. I’m not up to calling every Nordstrom in town, because they never answer, but the ones I have been to are all out of the good stuff. (Well, I didn’t ask if the less appealing stuff was in stock, since I don’t care.) MAC online is also pretty much out of everything. In the time it took to put one of the lipsticks in my cart it sold out.

          • boojum says:
            12 October 2010 at 1:24 pm

Well, if you tell me what you want, I can duck in and check. There’s a Nordstrom, but also a stand-alone MAC in the MOA…

Can’t blame you, Maleficent is my favorite evil Disney character, and I’m compelled to buy almost anything Alice (*except* makeup, despite the great packaging, bc I know I won’t wear it; I have *just* that much restraint).

        • mals86 says:
          12 October 2010 at 12:24 pm

I just checked ye olde standby evilbay… oh, how appropriate for Maleficent!… and it’s still available there, $28-35, in Dark Deed (a dark goth-y red) and Violetta (um, probably scary on skin).

Hmmm, is the Tom Ford a set, or can each item be bought separately, if I just want the solid? Although . . . why do you need a mirror to apply solid perfume?

I do like that Juicy bottle–the original has always reminded me of the hot pink and gold Betsey Johnson bottle. Not enough to purchase, but just to look at, although I admit I do like the original fragrance for women and really admire Dirty English for men.

The ring is perhaps one of the ugliest things I’ve seen. It reminds me of gaudy, oversized high school class rings I don’t believe anyone I know bought.
