Lacoste Joy of Pink ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 11 October 2010 11 Comments

Lacoste Joy of Pink advertLacoste Joy of Pink fragrance bottle

Lacoste has launched Joy of Pink, a new fragrance for women and the latest in the series that includes Touch of Pink, Dream of Pink and Love of Pink:

Joy of Pink is the vibrant new fragrance for women from LACOSTE; an exhilarating scent inspired by the lively exoticism of a Curaçao cocktail: colourful, sparkling and full of energy. Featuring effervescent citrus notes underpinned by a smooth musky base, Joy of Pink is a delightfully uplifting addition to the LACOSTE Pink Collection, capturing the same light-hearted ethos of the brand’s best-selling Touch of Pink and Love of Pink fragrances.

The notes include grapefruit, blue curaçao, peony, cedar and musk.

Lacoste Joy of Pink is available in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette. (quote via superdrug, additional information via theperfumeshop, escentual)

Truthfully, I’ve tried none of this line….but I get the feeling this would be annoyingly common smelling…maybe because the description fairly screams : generic citrus /fruity top underpinned by a generic musky base ! be still my heart…..

It actually sounded pretty good to me, but I know better than to get my hopes up. I really disliked the others I have tried. I think if they had just gone for flat out citrus with this, it might have been ok. It takes talent to make musky/fruity work.

It is not bad at all. I also didn’t like the others, but this one is fresh and smells a lot of grapefruit in the beginning, the dry down is not so harsh and synthetic as the others. On a hot summer day I would wear it, when I had a bottle.

They’re fine, but doubt any perfumistas would find them interesting. And haven’t smelled this new one…

my cousin used to love “touch of” pink, I don’t know if she still does.
and I thought “love of pink” was nice, it’s like strawberries.
I think I got them right “touch” was the original and “love” was brought out near Valentine’s day??

but I never thought much of the Lacoste line.

I also didn’t think it possible but each bottle is more shockingly pink 😉

Eventually they will run out of shades of pink.

I hoped actually that some of the proceeds were going to a breast cancer charity. Now I know. Who besides a teenage girl would want pink perfume? (Now my Manoumalia and Armani Onde Vertige don’t count;)

HA….the percentage of women’s perfume these days that is PINK is huge, right? So must be more than teenagers 😉

You know I tried to get a free sample of Touch Of Pink last year and three months later, they still haden’t sent it to me, so I gave up. I probably was not missing much.
