Linari Fuoco Infernale ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 29 September 2010 24 Comments

Linari Fuoco Infernale

Linari has launched Fuoco Infernale, a new fragrance developed by perfumer Egon Oelkers:

An equally diverse and beguiling composition of spicy clove and the herbal-earthy aspects of natural myrtle blended with wild marjoram, cinnamon bark-chords, birch and labdanum. A bouquet of sweet-spicy olibanum and tonka bean lends the heart a rich and abundant note. The character defining base is leathery and is accompanied by a tempting combination of Burmese gurjun balsam and precious Atlas cedar. White Musk and Ambergris lend the composition a radiant depth and warmth.

Linari Fuoco Infernale is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be found now at First in Fragrance in Germany. (via first-in-fragrance)

This does sound nice for fall….spicy clove and herbal-earthy? Yeah, talk to me!! I’m not at all familiar with this line (ie. never heard of it before) seems I’m due for a visit to TPC to scope it out. :-)

They had me at balsam. Like the bottle too even if it vaguely resembles a golden hockey puck!

I’m not going to explain to the church ladies that I’m wearing something called “Hellfire” in Italian.

Oh gosh me to! I am not quite sure what some of the notes smell like, but I must sniff this for the name alone!

Well, after all, there was a very famous classic perfume called “My Sin”–did anyone ever wear that to church?

Umm…. I use birch quite a lot in aromatherapy as it is tremendously analgesic. That said, the combination of birch and myrtle is going to smell like horse liniment! Obviously, I’m very curious to actually smell this.

Did you ever get high off the horse liniment? I remember being totally spacey sometimes after rubbing down the horses legs, and it finally dawned on me one day that it was getting into my bloodstream, and I do not have the tolerance of a horse. Ok, so I may have been using it on myself a little bit, too. Hey, that stuff works!

So, yeah, I could go for a horse liniment perfume, too. ;)

LOL —I’m so ditz….er, I mean bubbly …that there wouldn’t be much discernible difference! But, no, I never noticed it having any mood altering effects….maybe you didn’t have enough ventilation.
We always used it on sore muscles! with 25 horses and 5 kids, mom would slap some liniment on you if you had a bruise or strained something….Absorbine Jr. horse liniment was like our family cure-all. I think I still have a bottle in the bathroom cupboard…and I don’t own a horse!

Ditto Haunani! I think this sounds promising. Actually, it sounds right up my alley. And to think they are releasing it at the right time too – definitely sounds like a cooler weather scent.

    Great name? Check!
    Cool bottle? Check!
    Intriguing notes? Check!

This definitely goes on the ‘must try’ list.

I have bottles that look like footballs, basketball balls, soccer balls, etc. I definitely think I need one that looks like a golden hockey puck. :)
