She would wear perfume every day

Posted by Robin on 28 September 2010 10 Comments

First, she would wear perfume every day; second, she would never deny herself the opportunity to eat cake.

— Ingrid Betancourt, who was held hostage in the Colombian jungle for 6 years before being rescued in 2008, on the resolutions she made for her life after captivity. From Ingrid Betancourt's Six Years In The Jungle at NPR, with thanks to Tiara and Aurelia for the tip.

She is a very lucky woman; I remember when she was released I couldn’t believe six years had gone by already. Unbelievable!

It’s unreal that she was let go…and was also surprised to see it’s been 2 years since then. Time flies.

Good for her – I did follow the story of her captivity at the time, and these are admirable objectives!

She is amazing! I won’t forget when I saw the headline that she had been freed. Was it two years ago? Ah, time does fly!
