Posted by Robin on 22 September 2010 20 Comments

Miller et Bertaux Om

Miller et Bertaux have launched Om: inspire... and smile, a new fragrance dedicated to Bali and named for the sacred syllable Aum or Om.

The notes for the oriental scent include myrrh, clove leaf, patchouli, peppercorn, hot pepper, flowers, wood smoke, incense and vanilla.

Miller et Bertaux Om is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be found now at Purs Sens in France. (via purs-sens, additional information via extrait.it)

No, don’t think it is in the US yet.

I agree that it sounds great, but the name bothers me. Must *everything* be commercialized??

M&B are the kings of putting a really silly name on a really nice fragrance. I wear Green Green Green & Green all the time and whenever anyone asks what it is, I always sort of sigh and apologize my way through the answer. “Well, its NAME is actually….”

All of which is to say, I actually thing they probably mean this seriously, not as crazy commercialism. After all, anyone who can name a fragrance “Close your eyes and…” without a hint of irony…

I love most of their perfumes though, silly names and all, so I will definitely be trying this one!

This sounds like something I would love, so I’ll have to look for it when it comes to the states. But have they changed the bottles for this line? I love the old bottles with the glass beads in them.

They used this bottle for Close Your Eyes as well…no idea why some go in the one bottle & some in the other…

This square bottle is the bottle they use for the 50ml size. The other bottles are all 100ml.

According to the notes this must be a very hot and spicy fragrance, just what I need in winter. It goes to my to try list, of course.

Shanti Shanti is my favourite perfume in the line. Very soft and natural rose fragrance.

I love Shanti too! Anyway, these notes look very enticing to me. I’m seriously looking forward to trying it.

OOOH….or should I say oooohmmmm…..? sounds like they made it just for me…except for that darned patchouli!
It’s another chilly wet Michigan morning….spice is on the scent-menu for me today! …maybe some OJ Tolu……if anyone gets a sniff of Om , please do report!

We’ve been getting upper-80s heat, and it’s dry, dry, dry here. Which is limiting my fragrance choices, dangit.

But I agree on the “sounds great, except for the patchouli” !

Oh this sounds lovely. If it could make me feel all ‘ooooommmm’ particularly on cold school run mornings, I would love it forever!

Hot spices, not baking spices. That’s my kind of spicy! Must try this.

This sounds wonderful, though, too, I do miss the (much simpler) Gap Om…oh, the 90s.
