Posted by Robin on 16 September 2010 23 Comments

Indie line Smell Bent has launched One, a new fragrance celebrating their first anniverary, plus four new limited edition fragrances for Halloween 2010:

One ~ "aging paperbacks buried under cardamom, dark vanilla, dry wood and sweet musk. hurry, this party ain't gonna last long!"

Bewitched Bothered & Bewilderness ~ "the sweet, spicy brew of a bubbling cauldron set against the lush scent of the forest at night. it’ll have you under it’s spell."

Lucy Fur ~ "sinful red musk mixed with vanilla cream and a splash of patchouli. she’s back for more ... and this time she’s not alone!"

Helen Carnate ~ "sinful red musk mixed with dark chocolate, red mandarin and a hint of vetiver. lucy’s new bff is wickedly delectable!"

Lumberjack Werewolf ~ "oversexed wolf musk sprayed atop a pile of freshly cut timber. who says you have to wait for the full moon?"

The Smell Bent limited edition fragrances are available in 8 ml Perfume Oil, 4 or 55 ml Eau de Toilette. They can be purchased at the Smell Bent website. (via newsletter from Smell Bent)

As usual with Smell Bent, the copy made me laugh!

One sounds like something I’d like, and I still want to nab a sample of Prairie Nymph.

I must be having a crabby day… I was thinking he’d lost his edge with that copy. I usually find it terribly clever and funny. One does sound good, though, and anything referencing a bubbling cauldron is probably required smelling for me (I live on a street called Macbeth, after all!).

Awwww, c’mon, you didn’t think “Lumberjack Werewolf” was funny? Say it out loud.

      Mals!

I just ordered a bottle of Prairie Nymph early this week. I was surprised I liked it after sampling it. It’s honey and musk and a bit powdery and also a bit sweet . Easy to wear and lasts all day long on my skin.

Hope you get a chance to sample it.

I’ve been meaning to try this line, definitely need to know what an “oversexed wolf” smells like!

Yay- Halloween Limited Editions! Halloween is my very favourite holiday and I am hoping my girls will grow up to love it as much as I do. One sounds interesting as do Bewitched, Bothered and Bewilderness and Helen Carnate ( I guess I am a sucker for a pun!). Have to get a sniff!

I do like the sound of One and Bewitched. I’ve been meaning to pick up some samples…it’s on the list but far down – I may make an exception since these are le.

I went ahead and ordered the sample pack. I think these all sound potentially interesting, but particularly One. Woods, musk and patchouli are all in my “like” column. Also – Brent refunded the shipping on my order! I’m starting to love SmellBent.

I still have yet to try anything from this range. One sounds nice, except the aging paperbacks part which makes me think of mildew…am I alone here? That werewolf one sounds raunchy.

lol – I like the smell of old books – it’s not mildew unless they have gotten damp – it’s more what it smells like in the library.

Yeah, dusty paper would be about right. More like old paper. My entire apartment (well, when I’ve been good and done the dishes) smells like old books!

And this is the first thing I’ve seen here that’s made me scream “GOTTA TRY!!!”

LOL – I kind of like a whiff of mildew, but I’ll probably get it by spraying on some Messe de Minuit for Halloween.

Really? Mildew in Messe de Minuit? The biggest, mushroomiest one that i can think of AG’s Myrrhe Ardente

Haven’t sniffed the AG, but yes, I get an occasional whiff of mildew in Messe de Minuit.

Ahh, with the font and wording I was hoping for a science fiction b movie themed line,
like Fay Rey- All it takes to charm King Kong is coconut, iris, violets, and blonde musk.
or Dr Frank n Furter- For the mad scientist with a very naughty side- try a potion of leather, vinyl, roses, red lipstick, and castoreum.

Still these sound fun. Helen Carnate is awesome, and sounds like a roller derby name.

Your Dr. Frank n Furter sounds wonderful! I was afraid it would smell like hotdogs or Curry – but come to think of it, I would go for those too.

It’s like, I know I’m not going to like at least half of these on my skin, yet I need to try them all as soon as possible.
