Ed Hardy Born Wild ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 1 September 2010 16 Comments

Ed Hardy Born Wild for Women

Ed Hardy will launch Born Wild, a new duo of fragrances for men and women, in November.

Ed Hardy Born Wild For Women (shown above) ~ "Let this daring fragrance take you on an adventure as impossible to resist as the woman wearing it. A bright, mouthwatering opening of dewberry and cassis buds blend with the power of magnolia and peach blossoms to create a whirlwind of intoxicating aromas. The test of courage continues when notes of muguet and sandalwood mingle together wrapping you in a compelling trance. Finally the dust settles and all that remains is a sexy musk on your skin holding the memory of the dangerous journey." Born Wild For Women was developed by perfumer Calice Becker, and will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products.

Ed Hardy Born Wild For Men ~ "This daring fragrance opens with a sense of adventure. Notes of cara cara orange, spicy cardamom, ambrette seed and apple create an intense first impression. Jasmine, neroli, ozone and pink peppercorn create a bold heart that demands you to push the boundaries. Ending with California Palo Verde and sandalwood, this scent drives you to take a risk." Born Wild For Men was developed by perfumer Olivier Gillotin, and will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products.

I hope they include safety belts with these INTENSELY CRAZY DARING CUTTING-EDGE FRAGRANCES. :/

Calice Becker, though. If she can’t do it….

Just be glad they don’t use the IT saying of :”BLEEDING EDGE”. That in combination with perfume conjures some really scary visuals.

I thought about grabbing my bike helmet in preparation for reading the full description….but then I felt driven to take a risk and test my courage on this dangerous (reading) journey…..oh please…..I know Calice Becker has done some good work, so I wouldn’t want to write this off too quickly but looking at the notes I keep thinking: fruity floral drying down to insipid skin musk…done.
The men’s sounds better ( ‘cept for that apple!)
I always wonder if reputable/esteemed perfumers are embarrassed by stupid ad copy….

I did really like their Love & Luck, so will hope this one is as good.

I’ve heard Love & Luck mentioned a number of times as being really nice, but I’ve never tried any of this line. I know this is really shallow but I’m kind of put off by their packaging.

A fruity floral does not sound wildly adventurous to me either, but the fact that Becker was involved and the list of notes being things I gnerally like might cause me to sniff this if I run across it. I’m definitely not the target demographic in terms of age, mind you…

I don’t know if I can break free of the compelling trance of this ad copy to actually drive my car to go test these.
Guess I’m forced to stay home and and test my courage in other ways, like waiting for the bottle of Lanvin My Sin that should be arriving any day now.

Ruth, congratulations on My Sin. It’s so heavenly! Unfortunately, last bottle I got was definitely spoiled and it cooled my fevered rush for some.

I hate to admit it, but that first one (the pink one, what’s the name?) is something I bought (on sale though) and do wear periodically…while it is, yes, a safe fruity floral, there’s an odd aquatic quality that makes it a little interesting. At least it’s something good and uncomplicated for a bar-type setting, and the fact that Becker is headlining this new one does make me at least a little hopeful for the next as well.

Can skip the women’s… but the men’s sounds oddly appealing. Will it have the same pink juice and “pretty girl” pirate? What guy will buy that?

I can’t believe I am saying this but these actually sound pretty dang good to me! I can’t wait to try them! Anything can beat the Christian As and Hearts & Daggers! That’s for sure! : )

This will sell in Germany like hot cupcakes. Like his ugly clothes. May I stress out the “unfortunately”!
