Posted by Robin on 15 June 2010 17 Comments

Rochas Eau de Rochas Fraîche perfume

Rochas celebrates the 40th anniversary of Eau de Rochas this year, and to celebrate, has launched Eau de Rochas Fraîche, a fresh, light and delicate variation on the original.

Eau de Rochas Fraîche was developed by perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez; the notes include bergamot, fresh notes, white flowers, iris, liatrix, musk and oakmoss.

Rochas Eau de Rochas Fraîche is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via beaute-addict, eauderochas40ans, osmoz.com)

That bottle looks like a ripoff of the Armani Onde collection bottles.

It predates the Onde bottles by some years, though.

But wasn’t Eau de Rochas already pretty light and fresh and delicate?

        Yes, by many years.

And yes, it was pretty light & delicate already! But bet this is “fresher” as in “synthetic fresh notes”.

That’s what I was going to say: it’s so fresh already!

Glad to hear that Rochas is back to the show, I’m a massive fan of any form and gender of Eau De Rochas. I happen to wear Eau de Rochas pour Homme today, and that’s probably the only scent I regularly stock up. Eau de Rochas pour Femme (which I wear as well) is a wonderful, no-nonsense citrus chypre, and I’m not sure that a light and delicate version of it could make any justice to the wonderful original… but there you go.
Plus, I hope they wil improve their distribution: here in UK Rochas’ perfume are quite a rarity, even on line…
Plus plus, we want the Eau de Rochas Fraiche pour homme as well!

Their US distribution is not so great either.

Curious – has anyone tried the Rochas Eau Sensuelle, also by Duriez? I wonder how this compares.

I haven’t…I never see Rochas in any US stores, unfortunately.

Rochas IS hard to find – I’m a fan of Rochas Absolu (sexy, spicy, comfort, yum) and I never see it except online. I’d love to try more of this line – however, “fresh air notes” always seem to better translate as “air freshener notes” to me!

I’m a fan of Absolu also. Femme is a classic and I even like the reformulation in small doses. I had a bottle of the original Eau de Rochas at some point but while the top notes were nice (kind of like Jean Nate) it turned into an Ajax cleanser note on my skin. Love the bottles, though.

I am a huge Rochas fan, owning and using Eau de Rochas, Rochas Man, Madame Rochas and Rochas Absolu. I also have a Femme sample waiting but haven’t had the nerve to try it yet ;). I have only found them online, which is a shame imho.

When I first started investigating the line, there were no information at all online at the Procter and Gamble web site. Now there is a http://www.rochas.com with info on available scents and some nice information on the discontinued ones.

Oh thanks for the tip. Nice website. I am a recent but ardent fan of Tocade, but so far have only a mini. For me it is certainly FB worthy. And yet the website did not seem to mention distribution at all. I’m in Australia and, as others have said, I have not seen Rochas perfume anywhere in the shops except for Madame Rochas sometimes. Who exactly is Rochas selling to I wonder. Anyway, I can get my Tocade at just about any discounter or ebay, so I’m not worried.

As I was a child, an aunt of me always wore something from Rochas. She always brought it with her from her vacation from Spain and it smelled wonderfull on her. As I liked the scent so much, she sprayed the scent on me when we were at her place. Don’t know which one it was, the only thing I know it was from Rochas.

Here in Spain Rochas is pretty common and you can easily found in any perfume shop or in Sephora.
