Posted by Robin on 3 June 2010 50 Comments

Parfums de Coeur Body Fantasies Vampire

Parfums de Coeur has launched Vampire, a new fragrance in their Body Fantasies range:

A mouth-watering bite...Succulent and delicious!

Vampire Parfum is a unique new expression of female sensuality. Intense and long-lasting, put it on any time of day and it always lingers until sunrise. Vampire incites notice, comment and, inevitably, desire.

Vampire opens with a spellbinding topnote of luscious Clementine and Plum Flower. Wisteria, Violet, and Chocolate Cosmos saturate the heart with their seductive powers. Finally, intoxifying Sandalwood, Amber, and Sultry Musk linger like a soft breath.

Forbidden love...Dangerous...Addictive...Impossible to Resist!

Parfums de Coeur Body Fantasies Vampire is $14.99 for 29 ml Eau de Parfum. (via parfumsdecoeur, with thanks to AbsoluteScentualist for the link!)

Add a tagline like “Vampire, for the woman that wants to be…lunch!” and there you have another Prix Eau Faux entry :-)

I just entered their website, as I am not familiar with the line, and I see that they have an 8oz body spray for men that comes in a container that resembles a windex spray…

    :-P

      LOL!

They own the Prince Matchabelli name (Wind Song, etc)…that’s the main reason I know of them.

I know of them from the tacky adverts they have at the movie theatre before the trailers begin.

Lunch? late lunch….very late lunch…..more like a midnight snack….I’m surprised it has a wood (stake) note in it….maybe that’s for an added sense of danger….

That 8oz Windex-type thing is hilarious!!! Maybe it’s for the man/boy to clean off as well as deodorize in lieu of a shower. EEK!

And only $7.99 for 8oz too! Bargain!

(Might be a nice-smelling actual Windex substitute, come to think of it).

I thought the bottle was pretty pathetic, even expecting something of the cheap and tacky variety. I could make a better bottle than that, and my glass blowing abilities, well, blow.

It would be so easy to create a good Vampire victim frag (I am looking at you ELdO).

Top notes: virginal accord (soapy, clean orange flower), open window accord (ozone and “breezy rose)

Middle note: blood accord (salty copper)

Drydown: earthy patchouli, moss, and honey

Lol. I was just thinking how there’s a distinct lack of “blood of a virgin” in the notes list. :)

And I agree, Klytaemnestra, and will likely do the exact same thing. At least this vampire frag doesn’t appear to have any patch, unlike most of the vamp frags out there. It is, however, lacking sparkles so no Twilight points there. :D

I agree – my inner ( reformed) Goth girl will have to smell this. Only tricky bit is the line is not available here – maybe my mom could include it in her next care package for my daughters. A very early Halloween present perhaps? Though trick rather than treat I bet!
Especially as there are no woody New England fall and Salem Mass notes in there. Hmm now thinking of gorgeous fall sweater fragrances… Sorry for the digression!

I love the kitsch factor. Wal-Mart carries a lot of these frags, so if I see it I’ll probably buy it. And I’ll store it next to my bottle of “Wicked Wahine” perfume that I bought in Maui at the hotel gift shop years ago. lol It’s a very treacly tuberose so I don’t wear it but I like it as a souvenir.

Question: What is facet on the bottle suppose to resemble? Wood? Hair? Exposed muscle tissue? A cluster of veins? Yech, I”m making myself sick. lol

A lot of my friends (looking hard at middle aged college professors no less) are totally hooked on the Twilight books and movies, as well as the Sookie Stackhouse ones. I don’t understand, but having spent my early adolescence pining over Dark Shadows, i have little room to criticize.

I was almost named after a character on Dark Shadows (my parents just toned it down a little), and my mom said that she set the stage for my adolescent love of all things Anne Rice. I like to think I grew out of the vampire thing, but the Sookie Stackhouse books are cute and charming.

for a fun vampire fix, try Lynsay Sands Argeneau Vampire series—humorous, romantic, nicely developed, best read in order. I believe the first one is called ” A Quick Bite”

Oh I remember getting hooked on “Dark Shadows” when the ran the whole series (including the b&w) on the Sci-fi channel back in the mid-90s! They went off on some really weird tangents sometimes. lol
I loved the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicle up until about “The Body Thief” (Book 4?). Thereabouts I believe Ms. Rice must have insisted on having her material released with very little editing. The “Twilight’ series…I just don’t understand the allure, especially among teachers/educators! To me they are very poorly written, dreadful content aside.
Haven’t read the Sookie Stackhouse books, though I do enjoy watching “True Blood”.

It’s terrible, I used to be able to burn through a novel a day but since I’ve hit my 30s, my ability to concentrate on a book has plummeted drastically. I’m also much more picky than I used to be. If I can get into a book within the first few pages, I’m done with it.

You’re not alone in that. I have a stack of books by my bed that I’ve started and given up on before the end of the first chapter. I used to read a book a week, at least, and now I maybe read one a month. Maybe. But I blame having to read so much in grad school. At the time it was a treat to sneak in a novel in the midst of my text books, but now reading doesn’t have that allure.

I don’t have any teacher friends that like the Twilight books – although we all read at least the 1st one because the kids were so in to them and we wanted to see what the fuss was about. Not only are they poorly written (the last time that I forced myself to read something that bad was when my book club picked the Da Vinci Code), but the story is infuriating – especially since I’m a bit of a vampire aficionado. I kept waiting for Buffy to show up and stake the stupid, sparkly vampires.

Now, I can see why junior high school girls would find it all terribly romantic – but I think it smacks of stalker, controlling boyfriend.

CynthiaW, you are not only my scent-twin but my book-twin. lol :) Btw, I highly recommend “Sunshine” by Robin McKinley, if you haven’t already read it. It’s part “Buffy”, part “X-Files”, part “Chocolat”. It’s one of those books that’s not perfect and yet I find myself reading it again and again. In fact I’ve bought three copies now! My oldest copy I’ve highlighted to death with my favorite lines and passages.

I have to admire this company for getting in on the vampire trend which is hugely popular since the “Twilight” books and movies came out. I think BPAL would have some great smells (and names of smells) for the vampire lover but BPAL isn’t mainstream.
