Posted by Robin on 17 May 2010 9 Comments

Bath & Body Works Noir, Citron, Oak & Ocean scents for men

Bath & Body Works is introducing a new quartet of fragrances for men: Noir, Citron, Oak and Ocean.

Noir ~ "Noir is a bold, exotic blend of black cardamom and white musk." Additional notes include sage, coriander, vanilla, vetiver and amber.

Citron ~ "Citron is a citrus blend of white woods & lemon zest." With notes of bergamot, sage, brisk woods, tonka bean and sandalwood.

Oak ~ "Oak is a woodsy blend of red oak, cedarwood & musk." Additional notes include juniper, clove, patchouli, sandalwood and coffee.

Ocean ~ "Ocean is a fresh blend of cypress, vetiver and yuzu." Additional notes include bergamot, nutmeg, patchouli and cedar.

Bath & Body Works Noir, Citron, Oak and Ocean will be available in a variety of formats; for now, they're sold in 120 ml Deodorizing Body Spray or in "try me" sizes of body wash. (via bathandbodyworks)

Love the Oak and Citron bottles!

I usually steer clear of BBW products (everything I’ve tried from them has a plasticky finish that bothers me), but these all sound interesting. With their prices, I just may have to go check these out.

I think all 4 will have nice bottles like that for the Eau de Toilette…but those aren’t out yet.

I was really fascinated when I saw this pop up on the Facebook page. Then I read they were for men and started thinking cynically.

I’d like to try the Oak, I don’t care who it’s made for :-)

The oak does sound interesting. Actually they all “sound” good, each one contains at least one note that elicits the “yum” response in my brain. Unfortunately I’m with Lucy on the B&BW products…it seems they all start out either sickly sweet or with some sort of high-pitched note that almost burns the back of my nose….and then in a few minutes I don’t care about any of that because the overwhelming plasticky note is squeezing my eyeballs and I have to find soap and water. Of course all this doesn’t stop me from wanting to test the coconut lime verbena soap that everyone seems to ohh and ahh about.

I would like to try the Oak and Noir. Black cardamom is very smoky and I hope that come through in the scent.

I agree with Daisy’s comment. I could see using these as body wash but as cologne? No.

Love the “brisk woods”! As opposed to … sedentary woods?
