Next month, Lancôme will launch Ô d'Azur, a new variation on their 1969 classic Ô de Lancôme.
Ô d'Azur was developed by perfumers Domitille Bertier and Sophie Labbé, and is described as fresh with floral and fruity accents. The notes include bergamot, lemon, rose, peony, ambrette seed and musk.
Lancôme Ô d'Azur will be available in late June, and I'll update with sizes and concentration when I can find them. (via conseillere-de-beaute.fr)
Update: Lancôme Ô d'Azur will be available in 50, 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette. (via cosmoty.de)
Dear Robin, yesterday I went to visit my parents and I noticed that my mom had opened a brand new bottle of O.
It seems my dad had bought it as a “duty free shop present” some time ago. Usually those kind of gifts end up in a “To be used as gifts in case of emergency” drawer hehehehehe. But she likes it too much to give it away.
Anyway I ramble as usual… I took a whiff and it transported me back to 1989 in a second! 🙂 at that time I was not sure I could pull it off being a man… but now that I am older and wiser, I think I could completely do it!
O is classy… I hope this new one is good. This seems awfully “inspired by” the escales from Dior, n’est pas? hehehehee
I really like O de Lancome, although have not tried it lately & don’t know if they’ve redone it recently. This could be inspired by the Diors, sure…and in general we’re seeing lots of these sorts of collection lately (Sisley, etc).
You are right that everybody else is doing it.. what reminded me more of the Escales is the etched glass bottle.
If I dig in my mind for “Who did it first” the Marc Jacobs Splashes come to mind first, althought they are not really “resort collection” stuff.
It really surprises me when they do these “cruise collections” and stuff. I don’t know if it is because I cannot believe that there is still a group of people that have that lifestyle in the 21st century (and colour me envious at that 🙂 ) or the fact that there are still people blindingly buying it for the aspirational value and unaware of the irony…
I’ll try them anyway if they fall in my hands..and let you guys know. My love for perfume is stronger thatn anything else. 😀
It’s true…the idea of a cruise collection seems almost quaint! But I will try this one too.
But it’s a dream, or an idea, or aspiration, or a memory that people are often buying, don’t you think, when they buy perfume. Not reality. The advertising and marketing are there to create that dream etc. I know it’s happening, but I’m happy to fall for it. For me, perfume is partly about escapism.
Well if you put it that way I guess I do it to…. it’s like traveling to me, sniffing of far off places 🙂
totally agree Annemarie
I’ve never tried the original – the curse of the newbie – but I’m really into the eau de colognes right now. This might be worth a spritz.
Do try the original if you can — great fresh green cologne.
It will be interesting to see how they’ve updated O de Lancome (or if it’s really an entirely new scent, far beyond a “variation”). I recently tried the original and found it disappointing — to me, it’s both fleeting and dated. The sprightly citrus top notes are gone in a flash, and it’s virtually undetectable half an hour after putting it on. I’d certainly give this one a try, though, if passing by a Lancome counter.
Yes, me too, glad to hear someone else has had same reaction to O. Thought it was just me
I hope this flanker does not supplant the original, I love that stuff! I don’t recall ever seeing a variant of O before.
Hello Robin,
You can find some answer here :

It will be available in 50 (not in France), 75 and 125 ml.
O(h)! How I wish this be good. The O is a very nice fresh green thing, one of my favorites for summer.
Sounds good. Hopefully without patch.
