Demeter Sanrio Collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 1 May 2010 42 Comments

Demeter Sanrio Hello Kitty perfumes

Demeter has launched the Sanrio Collection, featuring new fragrances for Hello Kitty, My Melody and Little Twin Stars.

Hello Kitty ~  "The most iconic of the Sanrio characters, the initial Collection would not be complete without Hello Kitty. We were inspired by what Hello Kitty enjoys doing most: eating a slice of Mama's apple pie! And we discovered apples play other special roles in Hello Kitty’s world. She is as tall as 5 apples and weighs the same as 3 apples. So we made Hello Kitty’s signature scent a collection of different kinds of apples: red, green and yellow. The result is a freshly picked apple scent with fabulous depth and just a hint of complexity."

My Melody ~ "Inspired by the smell most associated with My Melody, almond pound cake, we made a mouth-watering scent with almond and vanilla, perfectly balanced so it is neither too sweet nor too strong. A smile in every bottle."

Little Twin Stars ~  "Kiki and Lala, the Little Twin Stars, were born on the Star of Compassion. Ever since they arrived on earth, the Little Twin Stars have been spreading happiness to everyone they meet. Our interpretation of the Little Twin Stars is a fragrance of exotic and unusual citrus fruits, creating a light, bright scent that reflects both their origin and mission."

The Demeter Sanrio Collection fragrances are available in available in 15, 30 or 120 ml Cologne ($6 – $39.50) and in matching bath & body products. There are also gift sets sold. (via demeterfragrance)

Ohhhhh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I have a horribly weak spot for HK… and a feeling that at least one of these will wind up as a birthday gift for a stocking stuffer for my 5 yr old this year.

They really need to do a solid w/ a plastic hello kitty head just like the Harajuku Lovers solids…I’d *have* to buy it.

Oh dear, I hope they DON’T – I’d have to buy that too!

What does “just a hint of complexity” mean?

“no more complexity than you’d expect from a hello kitty perfume”?

…or a Demeter, for that matter.

aw, almost wish my girl wasn’t all grown up-it was so fun shopping for HK. Sweet. There’s even a HK guitar which is the cutest thing.

A friend sent me a link to a Hello Kitty trailer. I want it. If I could find it, I’d post the link here.

            Is that hysterical??

Love the RV…and, actually, the van at the hotel. The hotel is a little too much pink for me… but the 5 yr old would go nuts over it.

You know…the RV sold for $150k. For just under $3k each, 52 people could group buy it and use it as a timeshare. 😀

My favorite is the Hello Kitty tarot cards: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/hello-kitty/
They’re out of print in English but available in Japanese: http://www.sasugabooks.com/product_info.php?cPath=108&products_id=55498

        I am restraining myself.

Oh, I’ll be trying at least the Twin Stars and Hello Kitty. I don’t like almond so fortunately I can skip My Melody. I wish they had done Bad Badtz Maru!

Thanks Robin, you just gave me the perfect gift idea for my friend’s HK fanatic daughters. I’ll just have to try not to keep them for myself! I too have a Hello Kitty weakness that stems from my youth. 🙂

Aren’t there already Hello Kitty scents? I don’t know whether they are from Demeter. I thought there was already a Hello Kitty and a Hello Kitty Baby scent. If I only knew where I have read that.

I have a 20 year old daughter who should be over Hello Kitty by now but still loves it- reminds her of childhood I guess. So if these become available in Australia she’ll be there!

omg.. so cute! i secretly hope it smells like sanrio erasers.. you know the rectangular-shaped ones with a bell inside? i loved the duckie – ahiru no peckle but he’s a boy so i guess he doesn’t inspire girly fragrances 🙂

Oh no. I have a ridiculous love of all things HK. Off to check out the line and doubtlessly add a little more “cute” to my frag collection. Move over, Momoberry. 🙂
