Hmm – sounds nice, but smacks of some coat-tail marketing from Goutal’s Ninfeo Mio?

Hard to say…I mean, they could have had this in the pipeline before AG, right?

True. Still reads real nice though.

Dear Santa in July: I’ll take one Ninfeo Mio and one Ninfea please.

That’s the first thing I thought of too. It would be easy to confuse the two scents. However, it sounds really nice…violet and cut grass! Two of my favorites.

Yup, it hits two of my favorite buttons, too. About how pricey is this line?

just scrunch up your face and pretend you’ve been slapped –because that’s how you’re gonna look when you see their prices.
          usually around $240 for 100ml ….ouch , now I look like I was slapped…..

Lol..I actually didnt have a chance to scrunch up my face because I was laughing at your comment. Cute…$240 does not sound like fun, although I would enjoy a sample to have something to strive for during gift time. This would be a gift that would equal, birthday/christmas for this December baby.

They are definitely pricey! But I’ve enjoyed a couple things from the line, so they’re worth it if you just happen to have some cash “lying around.”

I too think this sounds lovely. Rose, violet, grass? If I can get hold of a sample, I’ll be a-sniffin’.

ooooo– yup, way to start the lemming first thing in the morning…
One of my fondest scent memories from childhood is this big ole overgrown honeysuckle tree that grew outside my bedroom window….I was on the second story so that pretty much means that my window was filled with the “business” end of that wonderfully smelly tree (good thing honey bees and I get along just fine) –yup, this one is now on the Daisy-radar.
I imagine it’s coincidental the similarity with Ninfeo Mio—just because development is such a slow process. Both companies were likely working on these in their secret labs for months and months, toiling behind closed doors, completely ignorant of the other’s efforts….

Hard to say. I know companies do copy names, just have no way of knowing if they did in this case.

Honeysuckle always reminds me of waiting for the morning school bus in early June when I was a kid – I’d get bored standing there and start nibbling on the honeysuckle.

I love honeysuckle too. When I was a little girl my Granny showed me and my sisters how to “eat” the nectar out of the blossoms by putting it on our tongues.

I have already tried it from a sample. It’s lovely, but fleeting. The main note is fig. I haven’t tried Ninfeo Mio, but I suppose that both may be similar.
Anyway, I prefer fig leaves to fig-fruit.

Didn’t you guys hear that EU declared 2010 Year of the Nymph?

This does sound quite good. I liked the Aquae Nobilis — you might like it, Robin: vetiver & geranium.

The name of this one is unfortunately close to AG’s Ninfeo Mio.
    Oh well.

    It sounds nice nontheless.

But Profumum is so dang expensive. Stops me every time.
Plus they don’t have spray tops…
But…the notes sound girly, pretty, nice for spring/summer =)

I actually love their Amber Aurea, and have it in decants. It’s a lovely sweet amber, not loud not mannish. This sounds awfully simple for Profumum. I wonder what is grounding it, surely there are some base notes? I guess I could use their amber. 😉

Profumum is hands down, my favorite house. I love MANY others believe me, but honestly, nothing blows me away like Profumum. They, to me, are full-bottle worthy. Luckily, I haven’t had to pay full retail for my bottles, but if my ship comes in, or I win the lottery ;), I’ll buy one of everything in their line again for back-ups.

When I saw this thread in my email, I had a little “flutter”, and a Whoo Hoo moment. I have full confidence in this one, sight-un-smelt.

Robin, you seriously ROCK for keeping your hand on the pulse on all of our fragrance passions. I like that we, your “dear readers”, get all the news as it’s breaking.

I haven’t tried any of these but I am really intrigued by the bottles, and I never ever say that. I am just not a bottle girl.

Any in particular that you recommend trying first?

Wow. I just checked out their website. That’s my favorite perfume website so far!

Now I really have to try them. There’s no sample set, and I normally get my samples through Aedes. Anyone know an inexpensive way to dive in?

Luckyscent. I know Joe has raved about Victrix enough that I finally caved and ordered a sample…and it IS a great scent, though it doesn’t last long on me (which is unusual).

Fig?!!! Hmmm, it sounds as if Profumum Roma is stuck in a groove at the moment…

If fig is the prominent note then it sounds like a rehash of Ichnusa (in the same way that Oxiana is a rehash of Vanitas and Aquae Nobilis is a reinterpretation of Victrix). I rather like Victrix and Ichnusa but neither last particularly long on the skin (which is uncharacteristic for this house) and the drydown of both are rather disappointing.

My overall favourites are Ambre Aurea and Vanitas (and I’ve tried nearly all of them), and I own a full-bottle of both. However, I’m still hoping to encounter a third Profumum Roma that I can love just as much as these two.

Interesting perspective, Trebor. I love and own a bit of Victrix and don’t find it at all like Aquae Nobilis. I know a lot of people find it fleeting as well, but thankfully that’s not a problem for me either. Actually, Victrix is probably one of my 15-20 favorite perfumes.

Trebor, Oxiana has nothing to do with Vanitas. Profumum’s have a very high concentration of perfume, that;s on of the reasons behind the price. Anyway, they are so good! Aquae Nobilis is perfect and Acqua e Zucchero is my fav.
