I love that bottle, too, but does it remind anyone else of Armani? I’m not sure if it’s “Emporio” or “Prive” or which line it is, but Armani’s the first thing I thought when I saw it. I’d love a little minature of that. The juice sounds intriguing but doesn’t trigger my lemming (maybe I haven’t had enough coffee??).

Found it! It’s the symbol from Giorgio Armani cosmetics that reminds me of this. Of course his style and symbols are all derivative of Japanes culture which he admires, so I see the connection. Here are a couple examples:

Love the bottle, hate the cap. The notes are pretty generic and could go either way. And…….it’s happened. I was just about to say “and such a reasonable price point!” Sigh.

$1.40 per mL sounds much nicer. Funny, that. ;)

Oh YUM, love bottle, and the juice – a REAL chypre? Squee!! I just know this one is for me! :-D

      Doubt it’s a classic chypre.

I would be shocked it if were anything even resembling a proper chypre, but they *do* promise oakmoss in the notes, so I won’t assume anything.

The bottle, though? KILLS. Spectacular. It has overtones of the Celine bottles, and of course it suggests those Frank Lloyd Wright stained-glass Prairie designs, or a Mondrian with all the colour drained out of it. The cap’s no good (as is so often the case), but still: I WANT THAT BOTTLE.

OH JESU, JOY OF MAN’S DESIRING! WOW! That Bottle… SO NICE (though don’t know why once i saw it immediately thought of “Le Baiser Du Dragon” By Cartier???? hmmmmm….) the juice sounds SCRUM-DILLY-UMPTIOUS! Sounds like an absolute KILLER! :-D

THAT bottle is gorgeous. Makes me think of one Cartier’s bottle. Don’t remember which one.

Maybe you’re thinking of Le Baiser du Dragon? That came to my mind. This is very different, but something about the design is Chinese (or quasi-Chinese).

    Bottle! :D

That sounds all nice and good but a oriental woody chypre in 2010? Promises promises.

I’m probably years away from a pilgrimage to New York, though, so….

Lots of new chypres lately though. They’re just all “modern” chypres.

Armani’s very first scent for women, called Armani, is what probably jigged people’s memory seeing this new one. A kickbutt chypre in a world of Giorgio. I wore it in 1985 but I am sure it came out before then. P.S. Christos anesti!

What is the Australian perfume world like? Are there local perfumes not found abroad? Is buying perfume relatively expensive, similar to buying books? Are there specialist perfume shops? Being an armchair traveller today.
