Posted by Robin on 31 March 2010 9 Comments

Sula Lovebirds Fresh

Susanne Lang's Sula brand has launched two new fragrances: Lovebirds Fresh and Lovebirds Tropical.

Sula Lovebirds Fresh (shown above) ~ "Get a sunny hint of springtime...a pleasing combination of freshly cut grass, juicy citrus fruits, sugar and lime blossom to create a light, airy fragrance. Perfume can be layered with Sula Lovebirds Tropical scent for a unique spring/summer scent blend."

Sula Lovebirds Tropical ~ "Settle into that summer frame of mind...combines yummy, sugary notes of vanilla, fig leaf, coconut and pineapple to create a rich, sunny fragrance. Perfume can be layered with Sula Lovebirds Fresh scent for an intoxicating spring/summer scent mix."

Sula Lovebirds Fresh and Lovebirds Tropical are available in 30 ml Eau de Parfum, $32 each at Ulta. (via ulta)

The Sula scents are really fun for what they are. I really like their Stiletto Musk, even though I’ve never broken down and bought a bottle. (They’re so affordable–you’d think I would have caved by now.)

Agree — fun for what they are and reasonably priced.

I’ve tried these and they’re not worth the price. They remind me of body sprays, though I can’t think of a drugstore brand that smells so cheap.

I’ve tried a few Sula Fragrances and was iffy on them. I didn’t hate them but they didn’t wow me either in any purchases. I love grass notes so am sorry to hear this new one is no better than a cheap body spray since I’m always on the look out for less expensive fragrances since my budget is tight.

You should go to Scentmonkey.com for the lowest prices that I could find on the net for newer or out of season fragrances ( I got a couple of great designer fragrances from the past ten years for practically nothing, one was Eternity Moment by Calvin, 10 dollars, I think). Another place to try is theperfumedcourt.com for decants of many varieties and sizes.

I am curious as to whether either of these scents would last very long.

I’m going to say no. What I’ve tried did not last more than a couple of hours on me. It was gone shortly after (as sunshine808 rightly points out) drying down to a scent much like a nondescript cheap body spray.

I should add that these sound like something I’d like to try, so it pains me to be so callous!
