Guerlain Homme L’Eau ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 12 March 2010 11 Comments

Guerlain Homme L'Eau cologne for men

Guerlain has launched Homme L'Eau, a new flanker to 2008's Guerlain Homme. The new scent for men is purportedly a “masterpiece of invigorating freshness”, and was developed by Guerlain house perfumer Thierry Wasser.

Fragrance notes for the woody citrus aromatic include bergamot, grapefruit, mint, geranium and rum.

Guerlain Homme L'Eau is available in 80 ml Eau de Toilette. (quote via moodiereport, additional information via marionnaud.fr)

Geranium pour monsieur is the first fragrance that sprung to mind when I read Geranium and mint.
But while GPM is a very strange and beautiful and surprising fragrance, I am a bit skeptical on this “masterpiece of invigorating freshness”…
…but you never know ’till you smell.
And I usually like boozy frags! 😉

I like Guerlain Homme, but it’s already plenty light enough for me.

I just read (reread) Kevin’s great review of the original; I haven’t tried that and feel like I really have to. This one might not be bad either, but I really detest flankers (though I understand their moneymaking purpose).

I would have liked a Homme Mojito Intense flanker — amp up everything, esp. the rum.

So would I. That would be far more interesting and likely purchase worthy to me. Yum.

I dont expect to see this flanker soon, since the first flanker, Homme Intense, hasnt shown up in any stores on my radar yet.

I admit I have not been looking. It is actually rather difficult to find a decent selection of Guerlain anywhere near me.

I haven’t seen the intense either but am curious about it and this new guy. I have the EDT and like everything about it except that thumping, synthetic thud of a dry down. I still enjoy the first part.

Might be easier going in this one then? Who knows.

Gawd, another fresh fragrance. I despise the word when used as a perfume descriptor – of course I want my perfumes to smell fresh! Has anyone ever wanted to smell stale or funky?

Gosh, yes. I don’t like fresh scents.
