Il Profumo Nuda ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 2 March 2010 28 Comments

il Profumo Nuda perfume

Italian niche line il Profumo has launched Nuda, a new woody-fruity-musky fragrance for women:

The inspiration comes from the scent that only Woman skin can exhale in its state of ecstasy. It is worn as a second skin...It works as the key of seduction and personality. Its aphrodisiac power comes from herbal pheromones with a ephemeral structure. Nuda is to be worn!

Il Profumo Nuda is available in 30, 50 or 100 ml Parfum. (via ilprofumoshop)

Oh, please. Subtle much? Who do they think is going to buy this with that kind of ad copy?

Beats me. Hope it’s just a really bad translation.

      I don’t know…it isn’t as risque as Tom Ford’s usual stuff even.

“Nuda is to be worn”? As opposed to all those other fragrances that are to be drunk?

Mals: Yes, I’m gonna go there… All I can think of is the quote “He’s making a woman suit!!!!!” from “Silence of the Lambs.”

      (insert preemptive “ACK!” here)

The exhalation of woman-skin in ecstasy? And it’s to be worn. What, it’s second-hand vapor?

OK, no comment on how ridiculous this sounds. Worse than Amaranthigh.

I’ll only say I’m confused because of the other Italian line — very different — profumo.it. Interesting this line came up though, because someone mentioned Vetiver de Java on Monday Mail I think, and I’m curious about that one (saw Robin’s review… thanks).

Yes…there are too many Italian lines with similar names!

Joe, I had the same thought re:Amaranthine. The only thing I thought of after reading the copy was their ‘evokes the scent of a woman’s thigh.’ I also thought of those really suggestive Caress soap commercials from back in the day. “Before you dress, Caress.” Must have been effective ad copy since I can still remember it though I don’t remember anything about the soap.

*Obviously*, Smiley Muffin is a huge cultural influence in Italy too!

LOL…reading the comments made me laugh pretty hard. Eventhough since Absolute Scentualist reminds me of what was said about Amaranthine…………… i must say the Amaranthine smells nothing like a womans inner thigh…at least i don’t think so and my boyfriend does not think so either unless you spray the stuff there. Now i am wondering what this one will smell like. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
