Charriol Tourmaline ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 16 February 2010 39 Comments

Charriol Tourmaline fragrance

Swiss luxury jewelry and watch brand Charriol will launch Tourmaline, a new green floral fragrance for women, in April:

Tourmaline is an entirely different eau de toilette: an eau de jour full of contrasts designed for radiant, relaxed, fashionable women who convey modern-day elegance with admirable know-how, naturally combining a pair of slim-fit jeans with a dressy sheer blouse and a men’s jacket.

Tourmaline, an eau de jour for every day, pleasant under any circumstances, modern and refined, at once so personal and so easy to wear.

Tourmaline was developed by perfumer Guillaume Flavigny; the notes include davana, cyclamen, ivy leaves, gardenia, frangipani, water hyacinth, rosewood and musk.

Charriol Tourmaline will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via press release)

Entirely different, eh? You don’t say!

Could be nice… is this their first fragrance?

No, not first — click on ‘charriol’ under the tags, bottom of article.

oh, this could be ME! well, if you squint really hard….and if slim fit would translate to “really tight because Daisy’s been spending too much quality time with the pantry” and dressy sheer blouse translates to “favorite tee-shirt that’s been washed hundreds of times so it’s ‘sheer’ alright! and hey, it used to have glitter…” and men’s jacket could be this Mich. state hoodie that was the CEO’s but it shrunk like mad and sorta fits me now…..yup, they’re clearly talking about me!
The fragrance (you knew I”d get around to that, right? ) doesn’t sound too bad—might be nice and springy —like a nice brisk spring morning with dew still clinging to those ivy leaves, the mist hanging in hollows as the sun just breaks the horizon….I could be into that…..and I refuse to even glance toward the window because it’s snowing here this morning…. 🙂

Sun’s out to your west! It’s the sort of day that makes you think maybe spring isn’t another 6-10 weeks away after all…

oh, please let it be so….(sobbing quietly) I hate the cold, don’t know if I mentioned that before… 😉

The tourmaline/turquoise color of the photo is spot on for 2010 color trends, according to Pantone.

I love that color-it’s one of my favorites.

And, the scent sounds great, too. Who doesn’t want to feel radiant and relaxed?? I’d love to go through life that way!

And tourmaline seems to be the gemstone du jour. Not that I’m complaining. This fragrance actually sounds very pretty to me, BTW.

I love the color, but it looks very cold to me, like it ought to have mint in it. And I can’t get past that to even formulate any thought about the list of notes.

It does look cold. But if they’d used a white background it wouldn’t be so overwhelming.

Slim fit jeans and a dressy sheer blouse and wears a Harley Davidson men’s jacket. (no dressy sheer blouse here). But the bottle are pretty.

Another faux tourmaline perfume bottle top [though I’ve never seen one in that color, but there are so many varieties, it may, I suppose]. Seems that tourmalines are big this year. As for the fragance, doesnt really sound like it’s my thing, but could be pretty.

Looks more like Aquamarine to me…. I’ve seen toumalines in shades of pinks to watermelon rind green (and combos of the those) and of course gorgeous emerald green Chrome Toumalines (sigh….) but never watery blue like that. I think they need a Gemology reference book.

I meant to say that I still think the bottle is pretty and it’s kind of neat that it’s shaped like a watch face.

Ladies, I think they were going for the color the of the paraiba tourmaline which is exactly that fabulous color. It straddles the territory between turquoise blue and green and appears to glow from within. Paraibas are very rare and extremely costly and you usually don’t see them much outside of gem collections.

Sounds good to me – the fragrance is just my style, but I think I would rather have a lovely Paraiba tourmaline instead. Just sayin’…. 🙂

i wonder why too. They’re not one of the better known and more popular gemstones. They deserve to be though – they’re so beautiful.

Pretty sure that as a college professor I shouldn’t be wearing that dressy sheer blouse to work…not terribly excited about the scebnt either but i wouldn’t turn down a sample if it came my way. It’s sunny today in Dallas, but still cold, with traces of last week’s snow still hanging around. Daisy, try something with neroli in it – works for me!

hhmmmm, Neroli isn’t usually my thing—but I should drag out some orange blossom and see if that doesn’t snap me out of this funk.

Really hard to tell in that shot. I will say that for a luxury company, the advertising seems cheap.

I do like the bottle but it’s probably less nice without the Photoshopping. This sounds good if familiar (I’d take fresh green over fruity floral any day!) but I’m reasonably sure it was the ivy leaves that ruined Mythique for me. That and its ability to disappear even after spilling it DOWN MY SHIRT. xP

So where is Charriol sold? =o

I do like a nice green floral – I don’t mind watery notes if they’re floral (water hyacinth). And it’s in a 30ml bottle too… might sniff if I get the chance.
